It was our first day back at school. Robby was still feeling guilty about the whole Mr. LaRusso thing, but I assured him that he'll forgive him eventually.

Dad stopped the car in front of the school, "Got you some pencils and paper. I wasn't sure what you need." He passed the backpack to Robby.

"Thanks."

"Couldn't find a Trapper Keeper. Are those still cool?"

Robby and I looked at each other, "We don't know what that is." We both answered.

"I had one with a fighter jet. It was awesome. You okay? Nervous about your first day?" He asked Robby.

"No. I just feel bad about Sam and the LaRusso's. I know you don't wanna hear it, but Mr. LaRusso was good to me. Miyagi-Do Karate helped me out a lot. Look, all I'm saying is maybe you guys can learn a thing or two from each other."

Dad sighed, "Alright, you two better go."

"Thanks for driving us, Dad." Robby smiled. He got out the car, but I stayed for a second.

"He's right, you know. See you later, Dad." I smiled at him and walked out, catching up with Robby.

We were walking through the hallways and saw Sam at her locker ahead of us. I can tell Robby wanted to talk to her so I nudged his shoulder,

"I'll see you in class, Robby."

-

I was in class, seated next to Robby as the announcements were being said.

"Good morning, students and faculty. Welcome back to a brand new year at West Valley High. I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are ready to dive back into the school year."

She continued talking, but I kind of zoned out.

"You can also purchase tickets for the fall musical, which will be a production of the global hit, Grease. And finally, as we embark upon another academic year, it's important to remember to be tolerant and accepting of all our peers, regardless of-"

There was a loud noise coming from the speaker, "Hey, what... you're not supposed to be in here! No! No! Give that back! You're not allowed to-"

A new, but familiar voice, was now coming from the speaker, "Ava Williams. You know what you did, and now you're gonna pay for it. I'm coming for you, bitch!" Everyone had their eyes on me, and the bell soon rang. I quickly got up, gathering my stuff, ready to face off what was about to happen.

A hand grabbed my arm, "You're really not about to fight her, right?" Robby asked.

"Better sooner than later." I walked out the room, walking through the hallway.

People around me started filling up the hallways as I saw Tory at the end of the hall. We stood across from each other, circling, while everyone else surrounded us.

"I saw what you did at the party. You kissed Miguel."

"Why does it matter? You guys aren't together."

"So, that's what he told you, huh?" She smirked and came charging at me.

I threw my bag to the floor, and quickly kicked her stomach. She threw me against the lockers and started punching my waist. I grabbed her head, and kneed her right in the face.

Robby came in, pushing Tory off of me. "You okay?" He asked. I nodded as he yelled at Tory to stop.

"Hey!" Miguel shouted.

"Settle down! We can figure this-" He was cut off by Miguel throwing him to the ground.

The two started fighting and so did me and Tory.

"Oh, it is on!" Hawk yelled.

I threw Tory against the lockers and she was quick to kick me back.

"Stop fighting!" Aisha yelled.

"Come on, guys, can't we all just get along!" Moon asked, before moving away from the lockers as someone was thrown into them.

Tory kicked me back at the wall, but I soon tackled her to the floor. She got up and started screaming, shoving the two of us through the doors.

We continued fighting and got closer to the stairs. I punched her right in the face and kicked her to the floor. She got up and flipped me over.

Miguel ran up, grabbing Tory, "Tory, enough!" She kicked him to the ground and grabbed me, dragging me down the first couple steps.

I got up and kneed her in the stomach multiple times. I kicked the side of her face, making her lose her balance and hold onto the railing.

"What's wrong? Can't keep up?" I smirked

She took off the spiky bracelet on her wrist, wrapping it around her hand. "You're gonna wanna take that back, Williams."

She grabbed my arm, and made three deep cuts with her bracelet. I screamed from the pain and was kicked down. My hair was grabbed and she brushed the bracelet across my cheek, "No mercy."

I blocked her arm and punched her side, making her let go of my hair and stumble forward. I kicked her in the face, and she fell over to the other side of the railing.

I held onto the scratched part of my arm and ran up to the commotion on the 2nd floor. Robby was on the floor, as Miguel held his arm up, across his back.

"Miguel, don't!" He glanced at me for a second before looking down. He frustratedly shook his head and let go of Robby.

"I'm sorry."

But Robby didn't care. He got up and continued to fight Miguel.

"Robby, stop!"

With one last kick, Miguel fell over the railing.

"Miguel!"

Everything around me stopped as I heard him fall. I rushed down the stairs, now looking at an unconscious Miguel.

"We need an ambulance at West Valley High." An officer said.

"Robby, what did you do?"

"Miguel, Miguel? Wake up." I shook his body, but felt no movement.

"Ava..." Hawk came from behind me, trying to pry me off Miguel.

"No! Miguel, please! Wake up!" I cried.

"Take her away." The officer told Hawk.

He pulled me off of Miguel, bringing me into his arms. I sobbed into his jacket, as he stroked my hair.

"It's okay." He whispered.

The ambulance came and took us to the hospital. I sat in my hospital room while the doctor was giving me stitches from the cuts Tory gave me.

Dad came in and immediately wrapped his arms around me. "Thank god you're okay." He kissed my forehead and looked down at the stitches.

"It's all my fault." I looked down.

"What? No. Don't say that. You did nothing wrong." His phone dinged, showing a voicemail from Miguel.

He hesitated for a second before playing it.

"Hey, Sensei, it's Miguel. I knocked on your door this morning, but I guess you already left. I'm having some girl trouble and, well... you're better at this sort of thing than me. I'll come by the dojo after school. My mom's working tonight, so maybe we could grab a burger at that place you like? Alright, talk to you later."

The voicemail ended and I held onto my dad's hand, as we both cried in each others arms.
