Sam texted me and asked if I could meet at the Miyagi-Do dojo. It was a bit surprising, but so she says we must hang out more.
And apparently, Miguel would also be there?
I made it to the dojo and outside, I saw Mr. LaRusso.
"Hey, Ava. I didn't know you would be here." Mr. LaRusso came up and gave me a side hug.
"I honestly wasn't planning on coming here, but Sam suggested it."
"I'm actually heading inside. Follow me."
I followed Mr. LaRusso and we talked for a bit. As we walked, I looked around the dojo and it was an actual beautiful place.
"You have a beautiful dojo, Mr. LaRusso."
"Thank you, Ava. You haven't been here yet, huh?"
"Uh- no, I'm not sure my dad would like the idea of me coming here in the first place. I didn't even mention that Sam was the one I was gonna hang out with today."
"Oh yeah, speaking of your dad. Mind filling me in on everything?" He chuckled.
As I basically explained my whole life in the past year or two, when Mr. LaRusso opened the doors, it seemed like a very peaceful place.
That was- until we saw Sam and Miguel on the floor.
"Woah!" Mr. LaRusso yelled.
I gasped and didn't know what else to do, but run out.
"Ava! Ava, wait!"
I turned around and slapped Miguel right across the face. "What the hell was that, Miguel! Making out with your ex like you don't have a fucking girlfriend!"
"Ava, please-"
I looked behind Miguel; Sam was standing next to Mr. LaRusso watching us argue. I walked over to her, when she started backing up.
"Was this your plan? To have me catch the two of you together so I break up with him, and you get to have Miguel all to yourself?"
"No- it's not like that- this wasn't even supposed to happen."
I shook my head, a tear falling down my cheek.
"Robby was right."
"Robby? What did Robby say?"
"You're still in love with Sam. Aren't you?" I looked at Miguel, but he refused to look at me.
I sadly smiled. "You guys are cute together."
I left the dojo without another word and went straight home.
"Dad, you home?"
"In here!" I walked into his room and he looked all dressed up.
"Where you going?"
"Meeting up with a friend for lunch." He gave me a kiss on the forehead, walking pass me and going into the kitchen.
"Before you leave, can I talk to you about something?"
"Sorry, kid. But I really gotta go."
"But Dad, it's important."
"I'm sorry. We can talk when I get back." He grabbed his keys from the counter and left.
The one person I needed left me hanging and the one person who I truly loved, broke my heart. Again.
I took out my phone and texted the last person on my mind.
Surprisingly, meeting that one person at Cobra Kai dojo was odd. The thing I was least excited about was seeing Kreese.
But, of course- Kreese had to be the first person I see.
"Ah, look who finally showed up." He smirked.
"Look, I'm just here to talk to Robby. Where is he?"
"Back room." I made my way back there and Kreeses' gaze followed me.
"Robby?"
"Over here." I followed his voice and saw him packing up some clothes.
"You sleeping here or something?"
"I have no where else." He looked at me and suddenly became concerned. "Have you been crying?"
"You were right, Robby. About Miguel." Without saying anything, he pulled me into his chest.
"I'm so sorry."
"I loved him." I cried.
"You're gonna be okay."
Someone cleared their throat. "Am I interrupting something?" I turned around and saw Tory standing by the doorframe.
"No, I was just leaving." She grabbed my wrist, stopping me.
She saw my tear stained cheeks and asked Robby to leave the room.
"What do you want, Tory?"
"Are you okay?" She sounded generally concerned.
"Are you serious right now?"
"What do you mean?"
"After everything that happened between us, you ask if I'm okay?"
"Look, I'm sorry about everything. Really." She sounded guilty, but I couldn't trust her.
"If I wasn't sorry or actually concerned, would I have let you walk out?"
"Yes." I furrowed my eyebrows.
She sighed. "Williams- Ava, I am sorry. I understand if you don't forgive me, trust me I wouldn't either. But, tell me what's going on."
I thought about it for a second, but gave in. She's more concerned than my dad was.
"It's Miguel. I caught him with Sam." I moved side to side in my stance.
"Now you know how it feels, huh? I hated you for what happened between you and Miguel. I hated Robby for what he did to him. I hated everyone. I hated myself the most."
"Okay, and why are you telling me this?"
"Sensei Kreese taught me that if you take all that hate... and you channel it..." She kicked and punched the punching bag. "It makes you stronger. And it feels good."
I continued looking at her with a plain expression.
"Listen, a bunch of us are getting together after class. You should come. Or you could run back to Miguel and get your heart broken again."
I sighed, "I don't think Sensei Lawrence-"
"You mean your dad? I heard. And so what if he doesn't want you hanging out with us? Why'd you even come here in the first place?"
"I came to talk to Robby."
"You sure? You wouldn't be here right now if your dad paid attention to you. But he left you hanging, didn't he?"
I looked down in defeat. "Come with us. It'll get your mind off things."
