School was hell for Phoenix. No matter how much she wanted to, she couldn't ever be herself. Seeing people be unique was a rare occasion, and the people that were different, would be easily picked out. It was torture being different, being picked on for who you are. That's why Phoenix was concerned for Charlotte. She didn't want anyone to hurt Charlotte. Phoenix would look at the different people, and observe them. She was jealous. She'd rather get picked on for being different, than be loved for who she isn't. Phoenix was a hypocrite, but how could she not be? Have you seen what she was raised around?Much to her surprise, everyone loved Charlotte. She was treated like royalty. She was happy for Charlotte, because this was the first time she had seen someone different be accepted.
Phoenix didn't know if Charlotte's new found fame would last as long as hers did. Phoenix hoped that Charlotte would find her own people, she didn't want Charlotte to become one of her brainless minions. Charlotte was different than the other people at her school; she had potential.
Phoenix's minions tried to get Charlotte to join in on the tormenting of the less genetically gifted, but she wouldn't. Phoenix was proud of her sister for this. Phoenix wished she could be brave like her, and resist the peer pressure. Charlotte stood by her beliefs and just laid low in the group. She didn't want to stick out. Although she knew not saying anything was just as bad as doing it. This saddened Charlotte because she knew she should've said something. She just didn't want to upset her sister.
