The Homecoming dance was on Saturday. This left only two days for the remaining students to get a date, although pretty much everyone had one. The topic everyone was talking about was who was going to be Queen. Ever since word had gotten around that Phoenix and Michael had been hanging out, no one wanted her to be the queen. Of
course she had gotten nominated, but no one really voted for her. The person next in line for royalty was Candace, and she was absolutely thrilled to have the spotlight on her.

There was just one problem, it was mandatory for the Homecoming Queen to have a date, but Candace and Luke hadn't talked for days. Luke missed her, but he didn't want to be with someone who didn't accept him, and Candace wasn't going to let a boy ruin her moment for her. She would just have to get another date for the dance.

Charlotte was as happy as she had ever been. She knew Calum had a reputation, and a bad past.
It became a usual thing for her to hear people talking about the girls that Calum had taken advantage of. Charlotte knew this was the reason that her sister was so hesitant about them "talking". She was somewhat offended that her sister would think that she would let Calum do anything with her. She hoped that he had changed. Charlotte couldn't help but fall for him. She hoped that he felt the same way for her as she did for him.

Candace sat up in her bed scrolling through her contacts. She still didn't have a date for homecoming, and she was running out of time. Her dark eyes lit up as she saw his name. He might've been a jerk, but she had to have someone. It was just a coincidence that he had been nominated for king.

Luke tightened his jaw, and squeezed his eyes shut in frustration. He missed Candace, god he missed her so much. How her strong jawline, made her look so tough, even though she was a puppy. He missed how her hands were always cold, because it gave him an excuse to hold them in his to warm them up. He missed her so god damn much, but he was too stubborn to do anything about it, and he knew she was too. He wanted her night to be perfect just as much as she did, and he knew exactly what he needed to do. And he still had time to do it. Barely any, but he just knew his plan would succeed!

It was homecoming night, and everyone was getting prepared for the night ahead of them.

Luke made up his mind. He had finally mustered up the courage, and he was going to surprise Candace by asking her to homecoming.

He arrived at her house, knocked on the door, and began strumming the chords to I miss you by Blink 182.
Much to Luke's surprise Candace wasn't the one who opened the door. Luke was faced by the douche bag himself, Allen Martin. Allen's face crinkled up as he bellowed out a loud laugh. "Luke, right? What's a loser like you doing here?" Luke puffed his chest out in an attempt to look tough, but still didn't compare to Allen's athletic build. "I'm here to ask Candace to homecoming." Allen laughed even more at the fool in front of him, "You're a little late for that buddy. She's already taken." Luke's eyebrows furrowed, until he heard Candace's sweet voice speaking; "Allen, double check to see if the tickets are in your wallet. I need everything to be perfe-" "Candace?" Luke said, not sure what to think. "Luke, what are you doing here?" Luke took in Candace's appearance. Her dark complexion was glowing under her baby pink dress. Her legs looked like they went on forever, he didn't want to look away from her. She was a goddess. Of course this would happen to Luke. Why would a girl like Candace want anything to do with a guy like Luke? Luke coughed awkwardly, and looked down at the ground.
"Actually I was just about to ask my girlfriend to homecoming, but it looks like someone already took my place." Candace stepped in front of Allen, and reached out to touch Luke's shoulder, but he pulled away. "Luke, please it's not like that. I thought you'd understand. I just need everything to be perfect." Luke scoffed at her, "Is this really more important than us? A plastic crown?"
Candace didn't know what to say, until her gaze met a bouquet of flowers next to Luke's foot.
"Daisies, my favorite. I can't believe you remembered?" Luke smiled weakly at her. "How could I forget?"
Candace smiled at Luke, and Luke took this as an opportunity to ask her a question. "Can I play you a song?" A frown etched its way onto Candace's face, "Luke, no. I'm sorry, but we need to get going or we are going to be late." Luke reluctantly nodded, and directed his attention to Allen. "I swear to god if you hurt her or make her do anything she doesn't want to do there will be a fucking consequence. Got it?" Even though Allen was twice Luke's size, he didn't care. He would do anything to protect Candace and make her happy. He was falling for her.

Candace let a single tear slip down her face as she watched him walk away. She quickly wiped it away, careful not to mess up her makeup. This was the only way her dream could come true. She still felt guilty for sending him away though.
She was falling for him too.
