The Runaway Kid X reader

Blackness was surrounding you creeping all around you, looking ahead through the thick black fog you saw a lady, jolting forward with a gasp you woke up breathing heavily

Glancing around you could see all the other kids sleeping for some reason they didn't get nightmares like you did

Seeing a boy out of the corner of your eye you crept off of your bed and snuck after him in curiosity, trailing behind him quietly you could see that he was following after some other girl that seemed to be escaping

You heard from all the other kids that whenever somebody tried to escape they were never seen again or killed, you never tried because you didn't want to be an unfortunate victim of the maw

Seeing the boy ahead start to speed up you quickly did the same to match his quick pace, you didn't really understand why he had caught your interest but he did

Just as you saw him slip out of the thick bars and turn around to climb down the rope of cloth where the girl had gone, he saw you standing on the toilet staring at him in surprise

He looked back seeing the other girl still running and beckoned you to follow him for a second and then he was back to running after the girl

You had to think quickly if you wanted to risk actually following him, if you did you already knew that the maw was very dangerous seeing as all the kids had the janitor monitor them 24/7

Sighing you followed after him deciding you didn't wanna find out your fate if you stayed any longer in the nursery, you slid down the cloth quickly hoping to catch up to them fast, you certainly did not want to face any monsters alone

Thinking as you ran you wondered where he came from you saw a chain on his leg that was broken off from his escape, you also wondered if they even knew where they were going or.. who they would disturbed along the way

Eventually you caught back up to him seeing him looking down at a hole in the ground, there was black goop around the floor you shivered looking at it

He looked up quickly seeing you, tilting your head and pondering how he could even see you through his hair that was in his face and covering his eyes, he said nothing but looked back at the hole giving you a glance he slid down into the hole without a thought

Eyes widening in surprise you walked over the cold floor avoiding the goop you slid down into the hole not wanting to be left alone, you fell onto the ground shaking you slowly stood up, looking around you could tell this area was abandoned

You saw movement and quickly looked over seeing the boy pick up a flashlight, specifically the one that girl had carried before... where did she go?

The boy held it and looked at you slowly holding out his other hand, you looked at him in fear still thinking about that other kid, you could tell there was no way to get back up to the other children

Shaking away your fear you stepped forward taking small step and shivering at the temperature drop, you leaned your hand out and grabbed onto his hand holding on carefully

You could just tell that one mistake would cost you your life, you two had to be very careful if you even wanted to think about leaving this horrid place, you yourself didn't even know why you were here all you knew was your name

You were honestly to afraid to speak thinking it would alert something of your presence, rubbing your other hand nervously on your pants

You both started heading forward crouching down and feeling your knees touch the freezing floor, has you both ventured further and deeper into the area little puddles of water could be seen and felt against your bare feet

Sensing something was definitely dangerous about all of the water suddenly appearing you looked right over at the boy pointing over with one finger at the puddles he just nodded in understanding

Coming to a stop you both arrived at an area where you had to pull away a wooden plank to continue moving, observing the plank the moved in and started to pry it off, moving in aswell you helped him

Crouching under the new opening you both moved forward noticing a huge body of water with furniture floating around, now this was terrifying especially when bubbles and a dark figure could be seen swimming around in the water

You gasped quietly and the boy shushed you by placing a finger over your mouth, you looked at the water and then to him frantically regretting following him all the way down here

The panic was settling in, you took deep breaths to calm your raging heartbeat your throat felt dry and scratchy, your wiped away the clear water that had slid down your cheek from your panic

Fumbling with your fingers you tugged on your shirt looking away from the boy in embarrassment from your little panic attack, swallowing you finally looked back at him he patted your shoulder gently and motioned to the water

You winced and nodded acknowledging that you two had to get a move on, slipping into the water her motioned for you to follow him, sighing you slipped into the water opening your mouth but not making a sound, the water was icy cold and freezing

Shivering in fear and coldness you froze staying still as bubbles arose from in front of you, staying still you couldn't move at all.. not even a second later you were yanked out of the water and onto land the boy had saved you

Not even thinking you wrapped your arms around him and he froze slowly hugging back in understanding  you two stayed like that falling asleep in a bliss of escapement from all the harshness of the maw.
