Ive always been mono's righthand we went through everything together, neither of us were ever left alone or abandoned.. 'So why did he leave me..?'

It had been years since I last saw him, we were traveling through a dense forest on our way back to the little shelter we had made with each other

When I woke up he was gone. No note No trace No anything.. I had been searching for him ever since, slowly my hope in finding him was getting thinner 'what's the point.. he left for a reason'

I didn't wanna think about him anymore but it was so hard not to, its like he plagued my mind and thoughts, lots of things reminded me of him it wasn't healthy to think about him this much

I could tell I was slowly losing myself.. he was my other half, I decided this last search I was doing would be the final one.

Leaving my thoughts behind I grabbed my travel bag and set off in a direction that I had never searched 'this is it y/n, this is the last time im looking.' After giving myself a pep talk I journeyed forward

The forest gradually started to get more foggy and misty, entering it I could feel a chill throughout my body 'this place is very creepy..'

I had been walking for about maybe 20 minutes, examining every noise I heard because I was on edge feeling uncertain about this new area

Shrugging it away when I spotted a big abandoned looking house surrounded by.. cages? That couldn't be a good thing 'maybe he was caught??' I wondered to myself

Cautiously I continued on, seeing an open window I slipped through it quietly, better to hurry up and search than waste time being careful

I had searched the entire house, he was nowhere.. all I could find was a small music box and a ladder that led to an attic, but nobody was up there

Sighing I went out the backdoor That seemed to be open, the first thing I noticed when stepping foot outside was another smaller shack, sighing I headed to it

This place was abandoned as well, it seemed to be some hunters place or something, with all the dead animals skins thats what I assumed, I walked out of the back exit and saw broken crates 'what happened here?'

Now I was walking quicker wanting to figure out if anybody was in trouble, eventually after an hour or so of seeing more broken crates and broken wood I saw flies buzzing around an area

Stepping forward, I hesitated when a foul smell entered the small place, scrunching up my nose in disgust I felt like puking when I saw a dead body that seemed to still be fairly fresh

"What the hell?!" I spoke to myself running away from the body, I leaned over and caught my breath looking up I stepped onto a small beach

I was about to turn around and head back to my shelter to contemplate what I had seen when I noticed footsteps, they were faint but I saw them 'could they be mono's? Or am I just getting my hopes up?'

Deciding id rather make this trip worth it I pursued after the footsteps, one problem though.. they led to the water and I couldn't spot any sort of boat or raft around to use

Sighing I collected some wood planks I found laying around and crafted a boat the best I could... which was well at least unsinkable "okay y/n this is fine.. you are gonna be fine!'

I pushed it off of the sand and hopped on quickly avoiding getting myself drenched in the water 'this might take a while' I thought slowly closing my eyes to nap away the time

Waking up when I felt the makeshift boat shake I shot up into a sitting position and gasped in awe at my surroundings, huge buildings seemed to be looming over the beach that I was washed upon

I got out quickly and searched the beach for more footsteps 'please please please find footsteps' I eagerly searched the sand, finally spotting some I tilting my head slowly... two sets of footprints?

Shrugging it off I tracked down where they led to

It had been days of tracking where this person was heading, they moved quickly and didn't seem to take any time to rest, I however barely was making it

There was a strange lady that seemed like a teacher that I narrowly had escaped from, I was certain that I had gotten closer to the person

Right as I jumped past another obstacle I heard a familiar voice 'mono!' Without any hesitation I sprinted in the direction of the voice I desperately needed to see him

'Finally! After all this time!' I walked around the corner and opened my mouth to greet him when I spotted somebody else, I froze and dread crept into my mind

I spoke quietly still staring at the two of them in shock "you replaced me.." they were even holding hands, tears pricked my eyes and slowly started to fall wetting my cheeks

He heard me and turned around letting go of the other persons hand in surprise, he reached out to me but I just stared at him heartbroken

He started to run towards me... but I ran away hearing him scream my name

"Y/N WAIT!"
