You had managed to somehow chase Dabi out of the room and had walked into your bathroom – to not only shower but look at the red spot above your collarbone that was sure to turn into a bruise. You groaned, staring at it in the mirror. You couldn't believe he had given you a hickey. Crazy bastard.

It wasn't long after your shower that fatigue had overwhelmed you, and you had climbed into your bed, falling asleep almost instantly.

◇♧♧♧◇

It was sometime during the dark of night, that you were awakened from your deep sleep – much to your displeasure. You opened your eyes, almost annoyed at yourself for whatever reason it might be that you had to wake up at this very moment.

You nearly jumped out of your sheets when your bed suddenly sunk in towards the end. Someone was climbing onto your bed. You stared in horror at the figure ascending upon your bed. "Would you move over?", the voice grumbled angrily. You sighed in relief.

"What are you doing in my room?", you objected, moving aside, nonetheless. Dabi sluggishly crawled over to beside you, plopping down and laying his head onto your shoulder as his arm wrapped around your waist. "Dabi?", you asked, staring at the head of hair that lay on your shoulder, breathing evenly. "Psshht", he muttered, already half asleep.

You shook your head. How had you ever even been scared of this man? He was like a little kid. You moved slightly, getting more comfortable and took the blanket that was tucked underneath you, and tossed it over Dabi. Resting your hand on his head, you closed your eyes, letting his warmth and even breaths drift you back to sleep.

◇♧♧♧◇

Dabi stirred awake, feeling the warmth and movement of rhythmic breaths before anything else. Then the familiar fragrance hit his nose, the feeling of the soft skin that surrounded him as her arms and legs were wrapped around him like Koala bear clinging to a tree.

He opened his eyes, first spotting soft sunlight hitting the table that was below the window of Y/N's room. He looked down at his chest, finding Y/N's beautiful face resting against it as one of her arms and legs were wrapped around him. They somehow must've switched positions last night.

He sighed in content, unable to resist the urge to brush some of the hair out of her face. The touch made her snuggle up closer to him, pressing her face against his chest. The way it made his heartrate spike instantly drove him crazy. She had so much control over him and she didn't even realize it. He thought back to last night. He had laid in bed, had tried to sleep, but somehow his bed felt too empty, too cold. It wouldn't let sleep get to him, so he had decided that he didn't care what Y/N thought of it, but as he had told her, he refused to let her sleep on her own anymore. She was his. His. And only his. And he wanted her by his side at all times.

He spotted the hickey above her collarbone and smiled to himself smugly. He lifted his hand, gently caressing her face, tilting it towards his. Despite her still being asleep, her body seemed to react without her thinking about it as she leaned into his touch. He bent down, tenderly kissing her cheek, then moving on over to her nose and her forehead. He didn't know what had overcome him; but when it came to Y/N ... he was just so fucking soft. He softly brushed his lip against her lower lip, surprised to find her bright eyes staring at him in wonder. Unable to control the smile that rose to his face, he raised an eyebrow at her. "Morning Angel Eyes", he uttered, unable to tear his eyes away from hers. A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. "Morning Beef", she mumbled. He rolled his eyes, leaning his head into the crane of her neck as she snickered. "Really, Y/N?", he whined like a small kid begging his mother for ice cream, "why must you hurt my feelings like this?".

She chuckled again. "I don't know what you're talking about", she giggled. He pouted, scrunching up his eyebrows. "Y/NNNNN", he complained into her shoulder. Y/N made him feel so stupid. It was a good stupid though; in moments like this he could forget where they were, who they were supposed to be, all the wrong he'd done in his life. In moments like this, everything was just okay. With Y/N it felt okay to let his guard down, it felt okay to be able to act like the kid he had missed out on when he was younger.

He could tell she was grinning now. He had to fight a smile himself. This was Y/N's type of teasing. She sighed. "Okay, I'll give it another try", she mumbled. He lifted his head at that, surprised that she had even considered what he had said. She propped herself up on her elbow, took his face between her hands. There was a gentle smile on her face as she bent towards him, giving him the most tender of kisses. She pulled away slightly, her eyes still closed. "Good Morning, Love", she breathed, grinning.

Dabi lay there, frozen. The way Y/N had just kissed him, the way she had called him ... had called him ... Love. His eyes moved down, staring at her. She had a dorky grin on her face now, her cheeks a light shade of pink like the leaves of a cherry blossom. He sucked in a sharp breath, having forgotten to breathe. She let out a laugh, throwing her arms around his neck and collapsing on top of him.

He lay down on his back, folding his arms behind his back. Y/N lay on his chest, drawing circles around the silver staples on his collarbone. "Why did you get these?", she suddenly asked, pressing lightly on the staple. He looked down at her finger and shrugged. "Thought it looked cool", he mumbled. A smile rose to her lips. "I agree", she mumbled. Her words made him smile again. Although he would've gotten lost staring at Y/N, a pressing matter came to mind that made him grunt. "And now?", she looked up at him in curiosity. It was moments like this that made Y/N remind him of a small kitten.

He clucked his tongue in annoyance. "Mmm, today's just the mission-thing", he mumbled, trying not to frown. He didn't want to do the mission. Not for any specific reason besides the fact that 1. He'd rather spend the rest of the day doing useless and pointless things with Y/N and 2. He didn't want to put Y/N in danger. She pursed her lips, shrugging. "I don't mind – beside the kidnapping the poor kid part – if it weren't for that, I think I could even say I'd be excited", she muttered, slightly more to herself than anyone else as she continued to draw circles on his chest. "Oh?", he raised an eyebrow at her, smirking.

She scowled at his smug look. "Not because we're doing something illegal and making other peoples lives miserable; it's because I guess I've never been able to actually put use to the things my dad taught me – or the books he left behind anyways", she explained. He stared at Y/N. He knew she was capable of taking care of herself, she was probably one of the strongest and most capable people he'd ever met if it came to that, but she was still only Y/N. She might've been through some pretty horrible things in the past – like all of them had – but was she really ready for tonight? She was going to have to fight actual heroes, she'd have to fight against what Y/N considered "good, innocent people". He wasn't going to deny the fact that he wasn't necessarily thrilled about having to fight a bunch of kids, if it were to come that far. He tried to keep his face emotionless as he thought about the one specific kid that was going to be there. The image flickered to the front of his mind, clear and visible.

◇♧♧♧◇

You noticed the distant glaze over Dabi's eyes, his expression hardening at whatever he was thinking of. You had to stifle a sigh. What was going on in that head of his? What was bothering him this time?

Biting your lips, you decided that if you couldn't figure it out, for the time being, you distract him from it. You slipped both of your hands underneath his jaw to just below his ears and lifted his face, suddenly kissing him on the forehead. "I'll see you around", you spoke, chuckling at his surprised face expression as you got up. You had to prepare for tonight.

"Where are you going?", he asked, sitting up as you quickly exchanged your baggy clothes for a tank top and some sporty shorts. "Getting ready for tonight", you explained, slipping on some running shoes, and heading out the door before he could protest.

You threw the jacket on as you walked down the hallway. This was going to be your first time out alone. With this new mission, it had meant you'd become an "official" member of the league, which meant that you were trusted enough to go out on your own. You opened the door, stepping out into the open. Oh, how good the freedom felt.
