Dabi turned to give you a questioning look. "What?". You chuckled at his confusion. "Yeah", you sighed softly. Seeing Dabi open his mouth to question you, you hastily tried to cut him off by stepping into the building.

Your breath hitched in your throat as you stood in the large, broken down hall. This wasn't the best choice of avoiding the confronting question, you came to realize as your hands started shaking. Your throat slit shut, your vision becoming blurry and fazed with fear.

Your breaths became short and rapid. The air leaving your lungs without any thought of returning. A tingling feeling ran down your legs, making them feel numb and powerless. Calm down. Calm down Y/N. You couldn't lose it now.

"Y-You coming?", you tried to keep your voice level as you called out to Dabi. The dirt crunched under his feet with every step he took; walking towards you. He stopped next to you once again, his brows furrowing. "Did the pain-killers stop working?", he grumbled, taking off the sunglasses.

"What? Why?", you frowned in confusion. "You look like a walking corpse", he grumbled. "Why thank you, I feel so much better".

You walked towards the beam of light created by the gentle sunlight shining through the large hole in the roof, reflecting on shards lying around. Funny-looking shadows formed on the floor as metal wires and support beams stuck out in every direction from the hole. Its circumference looked black, as if it had been burned. Dust particles hovered in the air as you looked around. "What...happened here?", Dabi mumbled, looking at you. You turned to look at him, the sunlight softly dancing on your skin, the warmth almost comforting.

You inhaled deeply, looking up at the sky. It was bright blue; broken apart by some white fluffy clouds. Should I tell him? You didn't want to think about that time again, plus ... why were you even considering telling him? It's not like he cared anyways.

You shrugged, looking back at him. "I don't know", it wasn't a complete lie anyway. Dabi stared at you a few seconds longer, an unreadable expression on his face. Time seemed to almost slow down in that moment. His eyes pierced yours, everything else vanishing.

It was almost something like a trance. The quietness of the place, the soft sunlight, a light breeze and his eyes burning into yours, it gave everything a dream-like feeling. "We...we should hurry, it'll take us a while to get back", you averted your eyes, the heat rushing to your face.

Christ, what was wrong with you lately?

Turning, you walked towards a small counter; remains of what used to be a computer scattered on it. Dabi quietly followed you, as you crouched behind the counter. He stared at you in confusion, yet remained silent. You ran your hand along the bottom wall of the counter, looking for a specific small square.

Your hand felt a small square outline engraved into the wall; you pushed against the plate, a small door popping open. A red button, roughly the size of the tip of your pinkie finger; stood out against the grey background. Taking a deep breath to steady yourself, you pressed the button, praying the old mechanism still worked.

A purr-like sound ran throughout the building, followed by several clicking noises. There was a moment of silence, and then suddenly the wall behind you started shaking. Dust fell as the whole building slightly shook, creating a huge dust cloud, leaving you and Dabi coughing as it settled again, the wall having opened to a passage.
