You managed to slowly and painfully make it down the stairs, taking in a deep breath, thankful it was over. Hearing some commotion from the kitchen, you managed to shuffle over to the kitchen. You found Tiffany standing at the black marble counter smearing herself some bread, Jason sitting at the glass dinner table and absentmindedly staring out of the window which covered an entire wall, twirling a pen in his hand.
Tiffany was the first to notice you. "Oh Y/N; morning", she smiled at you brightly, before looking you up and down, "you okay?". You nodded, smiling tightly. "Yeah, muscles are just a little stiff", you mumbled, thinking about what an understatement it was. Jason looked up, only acknowledging you now. "Morning", he sent you a soft smile. You returned his smile as a greeting.
"Y/N!", Tiffany suddenly pointed the butter knife at you, "you wake up as Superman. What is the first thing you do?". You took a moment to process her question. "Uhm, that's random", you mumbled. "Go back to sleep and hope I wake up as Batman instead", Jason answered for you. Tiffany chuckled as you arched an eyebrow at him.
"Of course", you stated sarcastically, " because if I wake up as an alien demigod who can fly at supersonic speed and lift an aircraft hanger above his head, the first thing I'll think is 'I wish I was an unstable orphan in a bat costume'". Tiffany burst out laughing at your remark, Jason shaking his head as he chuckled. "I don't remember you being this snarky and confident, Y/N", Tiffany snickered, returning to smearing her bread.
"Confident?", you scoffed, "I only wish my self-esteem was as high as my stress levels". You smiled at Tiffany's laughter, taking a seat on one of the barstools. Everything was painful, you sighing as you finally relaxed your muscles. "Oh, Morning; Dabi – was it?", Tiffany acknowledged a presence behind you. You were about to turn around to face him yet were abruptly stopped when his arm suddenly rested on your shoulder. You flinched. "Ow! Take your arm off!", you tried to wriggle his arm off, yet it caused you even more pain.
Dabi looked down at you, raising an eyebrow, before shrugging. "Nah", he stated, nodding a greeting towards Tiffany. You looked up to glare at him, in doing so, catching a glimpse of Jason who was eyeing Dabi's clothes unhappily. You yourself took notice of them for the first time. He was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt that was rolled up to his elbows and a pair of dark blue jeans. You nearly forgot about the pain on your shoulder – that's how good he looked. Not to mention, he smelled clean and fresh. You stared at his arm on your shoulder, confused by his sudden contact. Your eyes ran up to his face, meeting his eyes that stared down at you filled with unreadable emotions.
You quickly averted your eyes in embarrassment. You mentally slapped yourself, great going Y/N. "You want some toast too?", Tiffany popped your bubble of thought. You smiled at her, nodding. "Yes, please". She nodded, stuffing her own toast in her mouth and turning around to put some bread into the toaster. Jason stood up, walking over to the fruit basket on the counter and taking out a banana, lazily leaning against the counter.
