I told him that I knew little of Ulth’Wakai or its denizens but I wanted to know more.
He told me that he would tell me everything I wanted to know if I promised that I would not try and use the pendant on him or his companions again.
I agreed and removed the pendant and put it in my pocket. To this he asked whether I wished to enter Ulth’Wakai and see its many wonders. I replied yes and I saw that the rest of the spirits had sheathed their weapons and raised their hands in the air and the one in front of me whose rather long name I had forgotten already started to cast a spell of some sort.
Suddenly there was a bright flash and when the light dimmed I saw before my very eyes the Gates to the Fade Citadel of Ulth’Wakai which were as magnificent as the Citadel itself and there seemed to be six of them. The spirit asked me to follow him and as we approached the first and the most intricate Gate the surrounding spirits were looking at me rather curiously and speaking in hushed tones.
I asked my spirit guide why all the spirits were speaking in hushed tones and he told me that no human had ever come this far and deep into the Fade. I was not surprised as there was no record of any kind regarding all the things I had seen up until now and also there was no knowledge about the Fade Citadels not even rumors of any kind or myths or legends.
As we progressed through the Gates I saw marvelous sights, magic I couldn't possibly explain, weaving wonders beyond my mortal comprehension and great works of art were commonplace just around for all to see. All the things I saw were just the beginning, I knew that there was more to come, that I had seen only a fraction of what the spirits had hidden so well for so long.
The spirit led me to a vast building which seemed to stretch in all directions and was part of every other building I had seen until now. The Fade Citadel was a massive Fort that was surrounded by what I can only call a town or city of spirits and yet it was linked to every building and their mode of transportation was magical teleportation which usually costs a great deal of mana but the spirits were using it with ease. All the knowledge I gained in the Fade Citadel of Ulth'Wakai forever changed my perception of the world around me but I think that is also one of the reasons why the Fade Citadels have stayed hidden for so long.
