Fay POV
"Fay? FAY!" My brother's voice is the first thing I hear. Blinking, I sit up slowly. I'm back in my room, and it doesn't look like any time has passed.
"I'm here" I call back.
"I heard a crash...are you okay?" Rowan asks, coming into my room.
I nod. "Just...dropped one of my books, that's all" At least my lie was believable. I was a bit clumsy (as Rowan was ever so happy to remind me).
"Alright" he says, leaving my room a bit too quickly in my opinion. Something was wrong.
The tingling pain begins to spread its way across my body again. Another silent scream escapes me as I am thrown to the ground. Wind surrounds me, scattering my papers. I close my eyes tight, waiting for it to be over.
The pain gradually fades away, and the wind dies down. I open my eyes, noticing that my bed seems a lot higher than usual. And I was walking on all fours. Was that...a tail I felt?
Quickly, I rushed over to the mirror. I didn't dare to look at myself, afraid.
But when I finally got the courage to look up, I saw a light brown cat staring back at me.
