I'm genuinely too lazy to post an actual update AND I want to try and stretch it out until the Darling Twins make their grand appearance in front of our main protags. So have something cute instead!

Paris wasn't a mean person, but he wasn't a good person either. He was pretty sure he only got the job because his face was gorgeous, and really, who didn't think so either? He wasn't bad at his job, he could brew every coffee cup extremely well as if he was born to be a barista, but he was absolutely terrible at customer service.

Not that anyone could tell from afar nor complain, because, again, he was gorgeous. Most male-attracted customers usually closed an eye or two for him, disregarding his bored tone as stoic or cool.

He was always leaning against the counter, chin propped up on his hand, his other fingers lightly drumming against the table. He didn't smile often, making order taking a quick process, and never followed the usual "Hi, how's your day?" script. He was still patient though, letting the customers take as much time as they needed to tell him their order, and never looked like he was annoyed.

He was just bored.

"It's just work," he replied when Yumi, his sister, asked why he always looked so glum whenever he left and came back from work. "What's there to be excited about?"

"You're the first thing people will see in the morning to get their coffee! You should smile more so they'll be more happy for the day ahead!" Yumi bounced, hands fisted and eyes sparkling with undying enthusiasm.

"Then the moment it's noon I'll stop pretending I'm thrilled to see their faces," Paris waved his hand dismissively, sighing with an amused smile. He watched as Yumi frowned and bounced some more, clearly displeased with his attitude.

There truly was nothing that could shift his mood during work, truly nothing at all.

I wasn't a morning person. People would always see me awake in the crack of dawn and would always say the same exact thing; "Oh! You're awake early!"

Bitch, actually, I've been awake all night and you're about to see me collapse from exhaustion if I don't get my extra energy boost to survive the rest of the day. You're not my real friend if you haven't seen me passed out on a table, which, at this point, should be the new version of "bed" for me.

It took a while to get used to the bitter taste of coffee before, only finding out later I could actually sweeten it if I wanted to, but I was already addicted to the brown mix of grounded beans by the second week. Only mornings though, because I was already hyperactive enough.

Unfortunately, the usual place I went to for coffee had closed down recently, and if I didn't find a replacement soon, I might be forced to fix my sleep schedule. How horrendous!
