Never in my life, I thought that marrying someone you love will make you the happiest person in the world. I always thought power will give me happiness and it did but this is better.
Being in ILLICIT for years gave me the perfect happiness from power. People wanted to know ILLICIT, praise ILLICIT, wanted to be one but little do they know.. ILLICIT is more than just a company that makes weapons, technologies and science but it's friendship and a family.
Today, I got married. I'm officially a husband and I'll become a father one day. I'm excited but also scared about what the future holds.
I kept looking for Angel, Chance and Dean but none. I thought they'll come like we did with Phoenix's wedding but not this time.
"Are you okay?" Leah asked as she intertwined her hand with mine. I turned to her and smiled.
"I'm great, Mrs. Nielsen." I smirked and she blushed. She told me yesterday that it made her excited when everyone says Mrs. Nielsen and I liked to tease her with it.
"Dean didn't come huh?" Leah asked and I shook my head.
"They'll come around. I know they would." I said and Leah gave a kiss on my cheek. She pulled me back to the wedding and we had a lot of fun. We decided to have a big wedding or maybe my parents wanted us to have a big wedding since I'm the last son of Nielsen to get married.
We ate good foods, drank lots of wine and alcohol and we didn't forget to dance on the dance floor. It was a fun and hectic wedding.
Me and Leah was glued to each other every second until she told me she needs to go to the toilet. Lana volunteered to help her and I walked towards the balcony to get some air before continuing the wedding after party.
"I bet they know that today is your wedding." Phoenix said and I turned to him.
"I hope so.."
"They're not that heartless, Adrian. You and I both know that." He said and I nodded.
"Have you ever regret quitting ILLICIT?" I asked and chuckled.
"I never regretted it because I'm so much happier when I'm with Lana. It doesn't mean that I wasn't happy when I'm with you all." He said in a panic tone makin me laugh out loud.
"It's just.. I wish I could change the rules instead of going out without trying." He said as he sipped his glass of wine.
"Dean's words will always become a law." I said knowing Dean.
"I know but I should have tried."
"That man is still living in the past, Phoenix."
"I know and I wish he could.. see more than his little square." Phoenix sighed and suddenly he put his hand on my shoulder.
"He will." I said and suddenly Phoenix pulled me into a big hug. He sighed and then pulled back immediately.
"I'm happy for you, Adrian. I've missed you and I'm so happy that you got your own version of happiness." He said without having an eyecontact. He smiled and then he patted my shoulder.
"A suggestion for you.. you should go ditch the wedding and just have fun with your wife." I turned to him and he smirked before going back inside.
"That bastard."
ILLICIT is literally my youth. I grew and learnt a lot from ILLICIT. They made me realize about my potential and the fact that I have a really good sense of ideas for weapons. Dean picked me to be one of his even thought it was pretty risky back then.
He was ready to die completely gambling when he recruited me since I'm the youngest prince of Denmark. I'm thankful for him, Angelo, Chance and Phoenix. They bring out the best in me and I will never forget that.
I still have a lot of debts towards then. They helped me a lot, supported me when no one did, bring out the beast in me too and lastly.. giving me the brotherhood that I've never experienced before.
I do have 2 other brothers but we're not that good with each other so.. I grew up acting like I'm the only son of Logan Nielsen and Amanda Nielsen.
ILLICIT will always be in my heart, no matter where I go, no matter what I do. I'll miss ILLICIT and the brotherhood. I smiled and looked up to the sky.
Angelo, Chance and Dean.. I really hope you'll find your happiness one day. I really wish you all could feel what I feel because it's the best feeling that I've ever experience.
I looked down to my hand and looked at my wedding ring. I smiled and can't wait to open a new page with Leah. Leah is such an amazing woman and I can't wait to grow old with her.
I looked up to the sky again, "Dean.. Angelo.. Chance, I miss you.. a lot. I wish you all can be here with me." I said in a small tone.
One day.. One day, we will get together again. The 5 of us.. even though it won't be sooner but I know they'll come around.
ILLICIT, I'll see you again.. this is not a goodbye.
