"Can you not go?" Leah asked as she snuggled to me more. I kissed the top of her forehead, "I'm sorry, I'll come here in the morning."
"Why?"
"I just have things to do."
"What if you're not coming back?" She asked and I chuckled.
"I will comeback, I promise." I said and she opened her eyes. She sat up and she turned to me.
"I can't sleep, it gives me anxiety. I can't sleep." She said and she got up from the bed. She walked out from her room leaving me confuse. I got up and decided to follow her downstairs.
"Leah, why are you making coffee?" I asked and she was ignoring me.
"Leah, you need to sleep. It's midnight, why are you drinking coffee?" I asked as I walked towards her. She sighed as she looked up to me.
"I can't sleep, okay? I won't be able to sleep. Everytime I close my eyes ever since I left London, I can't sleep peacefully. You were on my mind, I'm worried that Dean will do bad things to you and I was just.. I can't let you go like this even though you're just going to the hotel!" She bursted at me as she grabbed her coffee.
"Leah."
"Listen, Adrian." She said and she sipped her coffee.
"Listen, I've suffered enough because of you and you have to pay every single of it. I want you to stay and I don't give a fuck about your reasons!" She bursted and sipped her coffee again.
"Okay okay." I said as I grabbed her cup of coffee and put on the table behind me.
"I'm staying at the hotel, I'll comeback before you open your eyes. I promise." I said as I put my hands on her shoulder.
"I'm not going to close it in the first place." She said and I chuckled.
"Leah, your father and brother is here and I want to make a good impression. They just met me today and I bet they don't want me to stay here." I said and she shook her head.
"Why do you care about their impression anyway? All you need to do is care about me." She said and I cupped her face making her look at me.
"Because I like you a lot and I'm planning to do this for a long run so I don't want to mess this up." I said and she pushed me. She grabbed her cup of coffee and walked upstairs again.
I took out my phone and texted my chauffer to not wait for me. I told him to go and just pick me up early in the morning.
I walked upstairs again and Leah was sitting on the bed drinking her coffee. I stopped her and put the coffee on her vanity that's far from her reach. I sat on the bed and held her hands.
"I'm not going anywhere anymore, Dean won't disturb us again this time." I said and she shook her head not believing me.
"I'll stay here for a week and I need to go back to London to settle things down. This time, I want you to trust me." I said and she shook her head.
"I'll go with you."
"Leah."
"You're not leaving me again, please.." She said as tears started to fill her eyes. I pulled her into my arms and nodded.
"Okay, very well." I said and she smiled as she wiped her tears. She cupped my face and gave me a peck on my lips.
"Let's sleep." She said as she made me lay on the bed. She held me tightly and I guess I don't have any other choice but to stay.
Leah Morris
Even though Adrian is here, sleeping beside me. I still couldn't sleep, the trauma was still so raw in my head and I still can't guarantee about not leaving me. I sat down on my small chair beside the window. I looked up to the beautiful moon on the sky staring at it for quite some time.
My phone vibrated and I got a text message from an unknown number.
This is Dean, I want you to come downstairs and have a chat with me for a moment.
I got up slowly from my seat and walked out from my room quitely. I went downstairs and peeked through the window to make sure that Dean is already outside. He was standing in front of my door with his hands in his pocket.
I walked out from the door and he looked at me coldly. I closed the door behind me so no one could hear us.
"If you're here to tell me that you'll kill my fam-"
"I'm not here for that." He cut me and I raised my eyebrows. He took out a check from his inner suit pocket and he put it in front of me. My eyes widen when he gave me a check for 150.000 dollars.
"I don't want it, I won't trade Adrian for that amount of money." I said pushing it towards him right away.
"It's for the damage that ILLICIT cause you." He said as he grabbed my hand forcing me to grab the check.
"I won't be seeing Adrian in the future and he won't be a part of ILLICIT anymore." I looked at him disbelief.
"Take it because I don't want to deal with you both again in the future." He added as he sighed. He looked down to the ground and I was speechless. He looked like he was holding back some words but after a few moments, he looked at me again.
"I did take most of the toxic out from your body but small percentage of it went through your body already, one day you need medical treatment and I won't charge a penny if you come to our hospital." He said and then he turned around walking away from my house.
"Dean." I called him and he stopped.
"Thankyou for saving my life, I owe you. I really do owe you even though ILLICIT did damage my life. I won't forget about how you spare my life along with my family's life too." I said sincerely as I walked closer to him.
"All you need to do is take care of Adrian for me, he's like my little brother. I won't ask more than just treat him good or else I won't hesitate to blow your head along with every single member in your family." He said and that was his last words before entering his car and left.
"I promise."
I looked at the check and I ripped it into pieces.
