After that day, Adrian was acting a little bit weird. He was not talking to me as much and it bothers me a lot. It made me thinking about him all the time to know what did I do wrong.
I was confused and just.. felt weird.
I looked at the plane ticket that he gave me this afternoon. I guess I'm going back to London after spending a week in Paris. Paris, I'll be back.. I promise.
What went wrong though? I'm pretty sure that I didn't do anything wrong. I walked towards into the airport and checked my luggage in. After I finished it, I walked towards the security section when I felt someone hugging me from behind but I could feel a sharp knife on my waist.
"If you dare scream or say a word, I'll kill you." The man whispered and immediately my whole body trembles in fear. The man led me out from the airport and made me get into a black SUV car.
I looked at the two men's faces and they pointed their gun at me. I immediately got scared and they started speaking French with each other. They drove the car away from the airport.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked trying to calm myself down even though I know I might die. I really might die right here right now. Instead of answering me, they put a blindfold on and wrapped a tape on my mouth.
I started panicking because I never thought I would get kidnapped and maybe got killed. After a long time driving, they stopped. I kept tapping my hands on my thigh trying to calm down because my heart was racing so fast at this point.
They brought me out from the car and I felt the air con blasting through my skin as we entered the room. I was shaking so bad because how nervous I was.
"Please don't kill me.. please." I begged and the sat me down. They opened the blindfold off my face and pulled the tape off my mouth. My eyes widen when I saw Victor Mendez with 3 other men in suits looking at me smirking.
"No.." I said completely in shocked.
"I notice that you're the one who won the bidding for FL-2020 and you're.. working for.. ILLICIT." Shit! How did they know?
"I'm not working for ILLICIT, I don't even know what ILLICIT is." I said firmly and Victor laughed at my statement.
"Nah, you're working close with Adrian, that son of a bitch." Victor hissed when he said Adrian's name. They're rivals and he stole Adrian's idea.
"I do but I'm working with Estelle!" I said and Victor grabbed a gun pointing it at me as he walked closer to me. I looked at the gun in horror.
"FL-2020, where is it?" Why is he looking for it when.. we already bought it?
"I don't know."
"You liar, where is it?!" He shouted at me and I shook my head completely scared that the gun will come off. I closed my eyes nervously and I swore to God that I hate and regret working with ILLICIT.
"Why are you asking for it when we already bought it?" I asked as I kept my eyes close.
"Where is it?!" He grabbed my shirt's collar and pulled my body up making me stand. He pointed the gun right to my forhead and I shook my head.
"I don't know. I swear.. I only bought it and I never touched it again."
"Instead of killing her, let's use her." One of the men behind him said and Victor pushed me. I fell down to the floor and looked at the other 3 men behind him.
"There must be a reason why Adrian took her under his wings, she might be a gem to us." The man with blonde hair said.
"Nah, I say we kill her." Victor said and I shook my head.
"Please don't.. please." I said as I got up from the floor kneeling in front of them and Victor laughed.
"She's just like other ILLICIT employees that we killed, she's useless." Victor said and the blonde man walked towards me.
"No, she's different and I'm pretty sure.. this woman has a soft spot in Adrian's heart." What? Is this man stupid? I'm not even his lover, why the hell would I be that person?
"Let's keep her." The blonde man said and he gestured their guards to get me out from the room. Two guards picked me up and brought me out from the room. They put me in a small dark room and this reminded me again on the incident in the ILLICIT headquarters.
This won't be good.
This won't be good at all.
I need to outsmart them and I need to find a way to get out and warn Adrian about this. As I was sitting there for hours, they brought me out from the room and let me into a room full of mirror. The blonde man entered the room and he smirked at me.
"Leah Morris, I'm pretty impressed by your.. resume." He said as he gestured me to sit down.
"I'm going to offer you a job so you won't get killed." He said as he pulled put a gun and pointed right to my face.
"It's pretty.. easy actually."
"What is it?"
"You're going to help us destroy ILLICIT." He said as he got up from his seat. "You don't have a choice actually."
"I mean.. it's either you die in ILLICIT's hands or in our hands. That's a really nice option right?" He laughed evilly.
"We'll be installing a device inside your body and we will be able listen to everything that you do. Once you betrayed us or try to do things out side of our plan, we'll be releasing toxic and you'll die instantly." He said and I shook my head.
"If.. you successfully help us, we get that device out and recruit you to be our employee." I don't even trust this last statement. He will eventually kill me in both ways. I can't trust this man.
"Very well." I answered and he gestured the guard to take me away.
