When I awoke I stood up and opened the door. Cherie stood on the other side about to reach for the handle.

"Well good morning" She said. "It's time for breakfast"

"Okay" I said following her downstairs. We walked into the kitchen. Several maids were already eating. Trey was there too. He looked up as Cherie and I walked in.

"We've also got our promotion" She said.

"Promotion?"

"It's when we all go down into the cellar. One of us get's chosen for an upgrade as the upstairs maid. It's only called when an upstairs maid has been killed and one of us must take her place. The prince had called one just a few hours earlier at Dawn."

"We'll the prince snapped my arm last night" I said.

"What? Why?"

"I got out of bed, broke Lilly's locket, so everyone got mad at me and the prince broke my arm"

"Wow. What did you say?"

"I replied a few things back that I probably shouldn't have said"

"A lot of things you shouldn't have said" Trey remarked as he got up to put his plate into the sink.

"Whatever" I said.

"We'll are you going to leave your room again?"

"Of course"

"Your kidding Lilly. Your kidding"

 I shook my head. "I don't kid Cherie. That's one thing I don't do"

"But one thing you do is say things you shouldn't" Trey said again.

"Keep out of this" I yelled at him.

"Anyways, I'm going to go back and see if theres anything else I can find in that room. I want to know a little bit more about this "other" Lilly"

"You must want two arms broken" She said.

I grinned. "Maybe I do" Of course I didn't.

We all headed down to the cellar after for our Promotion. We walked down and the cellar frightened me. It looked like a jail.

We walked past people in cells. Some had tried to reach out and grab me. Then we all lined up against the shadowy black wall at the back of the room.

The prince came down.

Everyone stopped talking emmidiatly.

"If I call your name step forward. Auburn, June, Cherie, Haydon"

The four of them step forwards.

"Auburn and Hayden step back please" He said.

"Cherie and June. You both are now upstairs maids. Auburn and Hayden, you both will come wih me to the death room"

Death room?

One of them was crying. The other tried to hit the prince. But he had caught her by the wrist halfway before it could get to his face.

"You must have wanted the others to see" He said. "Well, I can understand that. Your death is quite a show"

She looked alarmed. I felt so sorry for her. Watching her have to die right there in front of us.

He pulled her arm right off. She screamed, blood pouring down like a waterfall. I closed my eyes, I didn't want to see.

"Oh but Lilly, I'd wanted you to watch it" He said. I opened my eyes. He was still holding onto the screaming girl.

"I don't want to" I said. "It's awful"

"Of course" He smiled. "But you will be watching, dare to close your eyes"

He pulled another arm off and another shrilling scream rang through my ears. I had never seen anything so terrible in my life.

And then when I thought it couldn't get anyworse he began to rip up the remains right there in front of me. The crying girl had backed up into a corner and was now crying so hard that it annoyed me at the same time it made me feel an extreme pity for her.

Blood leaked from the floor down to my feet. Other girls shriecked and stepped away from the blood. I just stared down at it, as if it were nothing to me.

We all went off to our cleaning after our morning scare. I was working in the throne room. I had begun to dust pillars and even the throne.

When I heard a farmilair voice-

"Hello Lilly"

I turned to the prince. He strolled in with a smirk on his face as if killing Hayden had been the best thing he'd ever done.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"I want you know, that I'm not the only one that's ever killed someone" He said. "After I saw the look on your face this morning, I knew you had to know that Trey has had his fair share of murders too"

"What are you talking about?" I asked rolling my eyes.

"Oh don't believe me? Go ask Trey, go ask him how many human's he's ever killed"

"I dunno where he is" I said. "And I've got work to do"

"Well I'm telling you to stop now. Trey is in the attic. I want you to go and ask him how many human's he's ever killed. And if you don't, I'll break your other arm"

"This isn't going to change anything" I said going up to the attic. Trey was there. Cherie was too. She was cleaning  off the paintings and Trey was writing down on his clipboard.

The prince followed me in. They both turned to us when they saw us.

"Can I help you?" Trey asked.

"Ask him" The prince urged.

"I am" I said. "The prince wants me to ask you how many humans you've ever killed"

Trey looked suprised and then he looked like he didn't want to answer the question.

"Tell her Trey" The prince said.

"Fourteen people" He said.

"So why did you want me to ask him again?" I said the prince. "You know it was an entire waste of my time"

"No, Trey tell her who you killed"

"People?"

"How young? How young was that girl? Tell her who she was"

"She was five. She was the princess of the night angels"

"Night angels?" I asked.

"Angels amongst the night" Trey explained. "She was the gifted of most talented, gifted, little girl you would ever meet, and I killed her"

"Why?" I asked.

"I had been hungry"

The prince grinned, obviously enjoying this very much.

"So you killed a little girl?"

"I had no control over myself"

I turned and left. The prince had only just made things worse. Now I knew that I would really push him to the edge tonight. I didn't care if I died. I didn't care if Trey was the one that would be ordered to kill me, or just screamed at me with everything he had. I didn't care at all. I was going to do something bad tonight, very bad- and that would be my revenge.
