When I walked into my apartment, wobbly on my feet and bloodstained, my boyfriend took a look at me, his eyes growing wide.
"Ava..?" he asked softly.
"It's the new look," I joked weakly, collapsing on the couch. "Thought I'd try it out,"
His brow furrowed, and rage started building on his face.
"WHO DID THIS TO YOU?!" he demanded, his hands curling into fists. "I SWEAR, I'LL MAKE THEM REGRET THEIR BIRTH-"
"Luke, it's okay-" I started, but he caught my gaze with a glare.
"Oh, don't even go there," he growled. "It is not ok, I mean, have you looked at yourself?! YOU TOLD ME YOU WOULDN'T GET INTO FIGHTS!"
"Surprise," I managed weakly.
"WHAT HAPPENED?!"
"You'll wanna pack up first,"
"I already have. Word is you're a criminal now," he said suspiciously.
"You don't have to come with me, but I figured I'd move... stay out of public for a bit..." I laid my head back on the couch.
Lucas plopped down beside me, turning my face towards him.
"Oh my gosh, what did they do to you..." he stroked my bloodied hairline.
"Is it that bad?" I asked softly. He took my hand.
"It's worse than bad, Ava. Who did this?!" he demanded.
"She was mad. It's my fault. She was already triggered, I shouldn't have-"
"Who. Did. This?!"
I sighed. "Bryce did, but she didn't mean it-"
Lucas stiffened, scowling.
"What do you mean she was 'triggered'?" he asked quietly.
"What Loki did to her. She was manipulated by Tony, so... she got... well, triggered," I explained.
Lucas nodded slowly. "So I... can't stuff a knife down her throat?"
"No," I replied firmly.
He sighed, helping me stand from the couch.
"Let's go, then," he said. "You probably don't have much time,"
"No, I probably don't," I responded, "Just... real quick before we leave... I just need to write something down,"
