Milly had always taken dramatic arts very seriously. She wants to be an actress when she is older so she loves drama. She signed up for every school play so when Romeo and Juliet were announced, without hesitation, she signed up not even realizing that she might have to kiss someone she didn't even know well. The auditions came and she signed for the role of Juliet. She didn't think she did well but she was proven wrong when a couple of days later she had received the role. As she was checking the cast list and reading the names she found Romeo.

"Oh no." she said. Her friend Bess was with her and looked at her.

"What?"

"Guess who plays Romeo?" she stepped aside so Bess could see the paper that was pinned up on the wall.

"Oh boy, Carter Malion got the role for Romeo. They've got to be joking, but didn't you guys used to be friends?"

"Yeah but that was a long time ago, he changed a lot." She was now walking with Bess to their lockers.

"Oh, well you are going to have to-." before Bess could finish, the warning bell rang. "Got to go, see you later, Bess!" she ran down the hall to the drama classroom. Milly opened the door to the classroom and saw Carter sitting on one of the seats and talking to Mr. A, our drama teacher.

"Aha, there you are, Milly," Mr. A motioned his hand toward Carter, "Meet Carter, he will be playing Romeo."

"Hey." he waved a small wave at her.

"Oh um hi Carter."

"Hi, Milly."

"Class please take your seats and grab your role-book." The class went on and when the bell rang and all of the students started to leave but Mr. A called Milly and Carter to stay behind.

"What is it Mr. A?" Milly asked.

"So I want the relationship between Romeo and Juliet to be genuine so I think you two should hang out and get to know each other."

"W-what?" Milly stuttered.

"Ugh, do we have to?" Carter said, finally speaking.

"Woah I'm not saying you have to hang out every day of the week but maybe you should just have a coffee, get to know each other."

"Fine, can we go now?" said Carter.

"Yes, you may leave," we started walking out the door as he said, "I want to see some progress in class on Monday!"

"So where do you want to go?" Milly asked as Carter walked out of the door.

"Uh, you can meet me at the Sweet & Savory at 5:00."

"The college campus cafe? Why there?"

"Because I don't wanna be seen with you anywhere near here."

"Ugh, fine, whatever. See you at 5 o'clock I guess." She said uncertainty.

He shrugged and walked away.

"Ugh, what did I expect from 'bad boy Carter'. He wears a leather jacket, doesn't care what people say, hates having friends, social contact, and he acts super edgy. I better get ready for our 'meeting'." She thought as I started putting on a little bit of make-up.
