Chapter 12: I Love You

Milly nodded and Carter stared at her as he finally let his lips push against Milly's.

It was a quick kiss, but very passionate. Milly never knew how much she wanted Carter until he kissed her.

"Thank you, Milly. You mean everything to me and I have been wanting to do that for a long time now."

"Me too, Carter." Milly kissed him again and she wrapped her arms around his waist as his fingers entangled with her hair. When they pulled away Carter had a huge smile on his face.

"Milly, will you allow me to be your boyfriend."

"Of course Carter. You are the only person I can imagine myself being with and I love you."

He tilted his head and kissed her again. He couldn't get enough of her. After waiting so long he finally was able to kiss her and be hers.

"I love you too, Milly. I have for such a long time," he kept kissing her. "Are you ready to go back on stage?"

"What about the fire alarm?"

"I, um, actually arranged that."

"What?"

"Yeah, the day I bought the rings and stayed behind at school I asked Harry a favour."

"A favour?"

"Yeah, because he's a stagehand he would be able to pull the fire alarm and blend in with the crowd."

"Oh."

"Everybody, it was a false alarm! Please return to your seats! The play will continue!" Shouted some teachers as people started murmuring and headed back into the building.

"Let's go give them a show, Milly."

They headed back inside and the play continued as usual.

"Then move not while my prayer's effect I take. Thus from my lips, by thine, my sin is purg'd." Carter said and cupped Millys face in his hands as he planted a soft and passionate kiss. Mr. Haynes was in the crowd and started crying when he saw them kiss.

Soon the play was over and Milly and Carter were smiling at each other as they held hands and bowed.

Everything turned out much better than expected. The awards went out at the end of the play and the principal started calling people's names out.

"May Milly Haynes and Carter Malion please come and accept the Best Duo Performance award for their outstanding performance as Romeo and Juliet."

Milly and Carter collected their plaque and her father took some photos as well as some students for the yearbook. In one of the photos Milly kissed Carter's cheek and Bess was ecstatic.

After the play, everyone was talking and Carter pulled Milly out of the crowd.

"You were so amazing!"

"Thank you, Carter. You too. I would have never gotten that award without you. Thanks for everything." She planted a kiss on his lips and his cheeks turned pink. Before he could say anything, someone tapped on Milly's shoulder.

"Ms. Haynes?" The lady asked. She looked around her 30s and she was wearing a khaki pantsuit with her hair done in a neat bun.

"Yes, that's me."

"Hello, I'm Mrs. Mille, I'm a talent agent. I saw what you did and I've also looked at some of your previous work. You have potential, Ms. Haynes," she turned her head to Carter, "And you too, Mr. Mallion."

"M-me?"

"Yes, the way you two worked with each other on stage was stunning. Also, the chemistry you two have is undeniable. Mr. Mallion, do you know what profession you would like to do? I know that Ms. Haynes is pursuing theatrical arts and have you considered joining her?"

Carter looked at Milly, "I have considered it and I think that's what I would like to do." He slipped his arm around Milly's waist, "If it means I get to be with Milly."

"Excellent! Once you two graduate college I would love to offer you roles."

"That's possible for us?"

"Of course it is. I know potential when I see it and right now I see potential in both of you. You have a great future ahead of you." She smiled at them and then her phone rang. "Excuse me, it was lovely talking to you," She handed them her business card, "We'll keep in touch," she said before walking away.

"Thank you, Carter. Without you, I would've never gotten an offer. Well, I have to graduate college first."

"Me too. I was thinking of doing the theatrical arts with you before today and I'm glad that's what I chose."

Milly went on her toes and kissed him. "Thank you."

Carter cupped her face in his hands and their noses touched before giving her a passionate and sensual kiss.

"Ahem."

Milly and Carter broke away from their kiss and looked at the person who interrupted them; it was Mr. Haynes. Their faces both turned pink and Carter had a guilty expression on his face.

"Hey, dad. Carter decided to go to college with me and we even got scouted by a talent agent."

"I saw what happened. I'm so proud of both of you. You did an amazing job!"

"Thank you, dad."

"Girl! Congratulations on the award!" Bess said, running through the crowd and hugging Milly. "Some of the girls want to take photos with you. Do you mind if I steal her for a second?' Bess winked and said, directing the question to Carter.

"Oh, um, sure."

"Great. Come on!" Bess said and pulled Milly by the arm. "You are dating Carter aren't you?" she said, her voice drowning out from the noise of everyone. Milly replied with a nod. "It's about time! You two are a match made in heaven, girl!"

"So, my boy," Mr. Haynes placed an arm around Carter's shoulder, "I assume you confessed?"

"Yes, sir. I did and we are now dating."

"That's splendid. You are the only person who I can ever see her with and I know you'll treat her well," his grip tightened a bit on Carter's shoulder. "You will treat her well, right?"

"Of course, sir. Milly means everything to me and she is the only family that I have left. I love her so much."

"That's good to hear, Carter," he smiled at him. "Also, while you're still staying with us, can you please keep kissing in public to a limit."

Carter blushed and laughed softly. "Sorry, of course."

"Oh, and make sure there is no funny business between you two. You aren't adults yet."

Carter shook his head and waved his hands frantically. "No, no, sir. Nothing like that at all."

"Haha. I'm just messing with you, my boy," He patted him on the back. "You just take care of her the best you can."

"I know and I will."

"Thank you."

"No, thank you for letting me date Milly." he smiled at him and the night continued.
