Hesitation for Love

Later

~Eight Months Later~
Barry was siting in his crime investigation lab working through his files slowly. Usually he would be doing these at a fast pace. But he had nothing to look forward to.
He would go to Star Labs and check on Cisco. Then if there were any metas  than lock them up in the pipeline. It's been eight months since he's seen Caitlyn. He wasn't able to visit her as often as he hoped. She had lots of things going on in her life. He relized that when he texted and she sent him a picture of files of papers. Without Caitlyn in his life it felt utterly miserable. He hasn't tried dating again. He still loved her. Even if she broke up with him. He got so lost in his daze he never relized Captain Singhe walked in.

"Allen are you sleeping on the job!" He yelled

"Uh, no sorry I got lost in my thoughts I'll get back to work now." Barry replied

Captain Singhe had heard from others that Barry had been broken up with recently.  He didn't believe a nerd like Allen could have a girlfriend. Unless she was a nerd too. 
But, he did have sympathy. Before he walked out of the room he yelled,"Allen take the rest of the day off get some air."

Barry was shocked by his behavior. When did Capatain Singhe ever do this?
Barry nodded and finished up the file he was currently working on. He could go to Star Labs or go to the park. He decided the park wasn't as depressing so he chose the park. He walked the tracks and greeted dog walkers. What else was he supposed to do? He walked up and down the street of Central City until he was bored out of his mind. He didn't run he walked. He felt his meta human alert system go off on his phone. So, he ran to Star Labs and changed into his suit. When he arrived at the destanation he scanned the area. He didn't see anything. But, out of nowhere he sees a man charging straight for him. He managed to dodge him. But, the man shoots a bullet out of his hand coming straight for Barry. He swiftly moved out of the way and gave the man a swift kick to the face. The man however managed to dodge this attack. Who was this man? Why was he so strong? He kept sending bullet after bullet  towards him. He couldn't go on like this forever. So he pushed himself to the limit and as fast as he could punched him in the face and knocked him out. He picked the man up and put meta human cuffs on him. He ran him back to Star Labs and put him in a cell. He walked into the Cortex to put his hit up when he saw Cisco face timing someone. He looked to see who it was. It was....Caitlyn. When he texted she said she had some papers or science stuff to work on. It's like she was avoiding him. Why? Was it because of the breakup? He needed to ask Cisco later. Cisco saw Barry and decided he'd better call Caitlyn later.

"Cisco what was that." Barry said

"What?" He replied confused

"You talking to Caitlyn." Barry replied

"So, what's wrong with that?" He said

"When I try to call she always has some excuse like I'm working or I have a patient at this moment." Barry replied looking at his feet.

"I had no idea when we talked I figured you guys called twenty-four seven." He shrugged

"I haven't spoke to her since I left Flordia eight months ago." Barry replied

"I'm sorry man." Cisco said bringing Barry into a bro hug

Barry decided he'd better head home for tonight. So he changed out of his suit and walked home to his apartment.

{~Jacksonville, Flordia~}

Caitlyn was in her office getting ready to go home for the day.  She grabbed her purse and walked down the stairs. She walked to her car and unlocked the car door. She got in and started driving home. When she finally arrived she unlocked the front door and went up to her room. She sat her purse by her dresser and fell onto her bed. She was  exshausted since she had worked ten hours today.  She looked at her phone she had a text from Barry.

(Are you still working?😞)

(No, I just got off like ten minitues ago.)

(Oh, so can I call you.)

(I guess🙃)

She was longing to see his face. She missed him so much. Work was always so stressful and she was always so tired. She called Cisco because it wouldn't be awkward talking to him. She felt her phone vibrate she looked down at it. She was getting a call from Barry. Caitlyn had to answer it since he just asked and she said yes.

"Hey Barry."

"Hey I miss you."

"Me too...When are you visiting?"

"I'm not sure hopefully soon."

"So how's life."

"It's great I guess."

"Any new relationships"

"No."

Hearing the meta human alert system go off from his phone she decided it was best to get off the phone.

"Bye Barry."

"Bye."

When he got off the phone he was going to say I love you. But, that could just bring awkwardness. He ran to Star Labs and changed into his suit to find that the meta human was in the building. He ran around looking for it. To find it standing right behind him. The man electrocuted him. Barry felt his heart slow down. When the man sent more attacks towards him he tried to dodge him.

"Cisco I need you to help." He said into his mic

Even though Cisco was in the room he was to worried to act fast. But, as soon as Barry said that he ran towards the man and blasted him. The man didn't dodge the attack.  However he stuck back and electrocuted Barry again. That's when Barry's heart stoped. The man had disappeared as quickly as he came. Cisco ran to Barry and started chest compressions. When it didn't work he called 911. He changed Barry out of his suit. When the paramedics arrived they took him to the hospital. After a couple tries the doctors were able to bring him back. Barry sat up breathing heavily. He looked around the room he was in the hospital. Surrounded by Joe, Iris, Wally and Cisco. The only person missing was Caitlyn. But, Barry guessed she hadn't been informed yet.
