"Bubbs!" I yelled out to my seven year old son.
"Yes?" He replied sitting next to me in the living room.
"Are you gonna miss me? Mommy's gonna be gone for one whole month." I asked sitting him on my lap.
"Where are you going? Are you gonna come back to me?" He asked pouting.
"Of course I'm coming back bubbs! Mommy would never leave you." I reassured him.
It hurts me knowing my son Jerimiah has attachment issues because of his father. My baby daddy would pop in and out of Bubbs life and seeing the impact it had on him I tried to cut it out quickly. Now the only father figures in his life are my dad and my brother Nate.
"Okay mommy as long as you promise."
"I promise Bubbs." I said smiling down to him. "And you can FaceTime me any time you want."
I know y'all wondering where I'm going. I'm taking a month long trip to Costa Rica. I deserve it, I work hard and plus I really need this break away from everything.
"Mommy the phone."
I picked the phone up because it was my brother Nate he calling to confirming him watching Bubbs for me while I'm gone. After ending the call I finished packing our bags the heading to Nates house. I booked a early flight so I was dropping Bubbs off tonight.
"Jerimiah behave and please don't give uncle Nate a hard time. Okay?"
"Okay mommy, love you."
"Who loves me?" I question.
"I love you."
"I love you too bubbs. Goodnight!" I yelled as he ran off into the house.
I conversed with my brother before he went in and I heard home for the night.
