"Y'all I don't know. He just been real distant and stand off-ish." I told Taylor and Simone on FaceTime.
"Girl don't worry bout it he's probably going through something right now." Taylor said.
"But that's the thing, I'm here for a reason. Talk to me about it."
"Have you talked to him about it?" Simone asked.
"No cause I don't wanna seem pushy or anything."
"Well pooh you can't just go assuming things if you haven't asked questions." Simone replied.
"You right I'll ask about it later." I nodded.
"Okay good. Now to you miss girl, when y'all plan on moving." Simone asked Taylor.
"Well since everything from the baby shower went straight to the new house hopefully soon."
"Have you picked out the theme for baby k room?" I asked.
"No, what was Jerimiah's theme?"
"Well funny story." I chuckled. "The doctor told me the wrong gender, so Bubbs had a Princess themed room."
"Oh my god!" Simone laughed. "So you didn't know Jerimiah was a boy until when?"
"Until I had him. The doctor took him out and was like 'A healthy boy' and I was confused as fuck."
"Wow, I hope that shit don't happen to me. I would be so upset." Taylor pouted.
"When do you find out the gender?" Simone asked.
"Next week, I'm super excited." She smiled.
"Y'all plan on doing a gender reveal?" I asked.
"No, I don't want to." She shrugged.
"I gotta go, talk later. Love you." Simone said quickly ending the call.
"Welp that was weird." Taylor said.
"Yeah, but hey I gotta go get bubbs from school and we'll be by." I told her.
"Alright see you then." Then we ended the call.
"Jayda!" Dave yelled coming in the house.
"Yes?" I answered.
"I really need to talk to you, it's important." He said with a worried look on his face.
"Well I have to pick up Jerimiah right now. Can we talk about it when I get back?" I asked.
"Yeah- yeah that's cool." He nodded, I kissed him goodbye and made my way to the school.
1 hour later
"Why won't you answer the phone?" Taylor laughed watching me let the phone ring.
"Cause I'm scared, he said it's important but I'm nervous. Taylor I'm happy and what if he wants to end things then I'll be so alone and sad I just can't lose him." I ranted.
"Jayda everything will be fine just calm down and answer the phone." I nodded and called him back.
"Hello?"
"So you just don't see the phone ringing?"
"I was doing something."
"Okay can you just come back so we can talk?"
"If you plan on breaking up with me do it now cause I'm with my support system right now."
"Jayda shut up ain't nobody breaking up with you, just come home."
"Fine." I said hanging up the phone.
"You is a fuckin mess." Taylor laughed looking at me.
"What." I shrugged. "Jerimiah let's go you have school tomorrow!" Seconds later I heard his footsteps running down the hall.
"Stop running." I said in a sing song tone. "Tell auntie Taylor bye."
"Bye auntie and can you tell baby k I said bye too?"
"They heard you." She smiled.
"Alright." He said running out the house.
"I'll talk to you later, love you." I said following behind him.
30 minutes later
"Go get ready for bed." I told bub he nodded and ran to his room.
"What is up with him and running." I asked myself.
"Dave!"
"Kitchen!" He yelled back.
"Hey."
"You know I love you and would never keep anything from you right?"
"Yes David what are you getting at?"
"I lied to you. When I left the baby shower I went to see Nicky."
"Wow."
"And i found out that I have a three year old daughter. She kept her from and and tried to use her to make me come back to her." I stared at the wall trying to take all this information in.
"I've been distant because I've been trying to get to know her and become a routine person in her life. I understand if your mad but-"
"David I'm not mad at you. I'm just upset you didn't come to me with it, we're a team now. I would've been with you through it all instead of you pushing me away." I said walking closer to him.
"I'm sorry Princess I just thought you'd be mad at me or something."
"No, if anything I'd help you through it. I'm the last one to be mad at someone about having a child."
"I love you." He smiled.
"I love you more."
