Briar Flynn

TW: Talk of Rape and Suicide
The walk up to the Ravenclaw common room was completely silent. We were both soaked head to toe and I now had Apollo's wet jacket draped over me to cover my shirt.

Once we arrived, I sent Apollo up to get changed before meeting me in the common room to talk. Walking through my own door, I let out a sigh of relief to see that it was completely empty. Luna and Cho were probably off doing something together.

My hands didn't stop shaking as I changed into a sweatshirt and some shorts. The fear of what would've happened followed me all the way up here.

If Apollo hadn't shown up. That was what was bugging me most though. The pain on his face once he finally looked at me would not soon leave my mind.

It took me a few more seconds to shake off those thoughts before walking down to the common room to find it also empty save for Apollo who was sitting on a couch beside the fire now dressed in sweatpants and a t-shirt.

*start song*
"Hey" I smiled taking a seat beside him.

Apollo looked over at me and did a quick scan over my body to make sure that I hadn't been injured. Besides a bit of soreness from hitting the floor and the wall I was mostly fine. "Hey" He replied.

I took a seat beside him and looked into the fire.

A few moments passed without us saying anything before Apollo spoke, "I'm sorry" He said voice raw.

My head shot over to him, "Why are you sorry? You're that one that-"

He just shook his head though and roughly ran his hands through his hair. I couldn't help but notice them shaking. "No Briar. I'm the one that left you out in the rain. I left you and by the time I got enough sense to come back and find you, you were being pinned against the wall by that-" He stopped and took a long shaky breath. "I'm so sorry. I failed you."

Tears blurred my vision at his words. I didn't hesitate before leaning against his side. He let out another breath at that. "What happened isn't your fault. It's no one's fault but his. What matters is that you got there."

"I wouldn't of let him walk away if you hadn't stopped me" He muttered, eyes trained on the fire.

"I know."

Silence once more.

My eyes began to grow heavy before Apollo spoke again. "Briar?"

"Hmmm?"

"Are you scared of me?"

This snapped me wide awake. "What? No. Never." I said without hesitation

He seemed to relax a little bit at this but his face was still tight. His eyes finally drifted to mine and that pain filled them again.

"Talk to me" I breathed
