~End Date~
I did not sleep a wink that night. Once I got back to the common room and up to my dorm, it took me 10 minutes to explain the whole story to Briar who seemed stunned.
"Who would want to harm you here?" She questioned, pacing back and forth in front of my bed.
I shrugged and fiddled with the necklace my mum got me. "Who knows? Maybe they thought I was someone else."
The thought didn't seem likely.
Briar finally stopped her pacing to look at me, "You don't think it could be one of them, right?"
Suppressing a shudder at the thought, I pulled my blanket closer to my body and shook my head. "It couldn't be. How would they get into the castle? There has to be some reasonable explanation for it."
"If you want, we can stay here tomorrow to just make sure-"
"No. No, I'm fine. If I do that then they win." I cut her off.
I felt bad about being so harsh with my best friend, but if there was one thing I refused to do, it was to let someone else win again. Giving up means losing everyone you care about.
Briar seemed to notice my tone, because she nodded and gave my shoulder a squeeze before going to her bed.

The next morning Briar and I walked to the Great Hall for breakfast in silence, listening for any sign of the person. It was unlikely that they would try to make another move in the day time with people around, but both of us were too cautious to care.
I sighed in relief once we finally made it. Noticing Fred and George standing outside the doors, I walked over to them to apologize for ditching.
"Hey bird" Fred said noticing me walking their way.
"Hey, I just wanted to say sorry for not coming down to the library last night after you asked me to. Some things happened and I got distracted" I laughed scratching the back of my neck awkwardly.
George furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean? Last night we were in detention."
"Yeah we didn't ask for you. Not that we wouldn't or anything." Fred reassured
That familiar eerie feeling settled at the bottom of my stomach once more, chilling my very bones. "So you're saying you didn't tell Cho to ask me to go to the library?"
Both of them shook their heads no, light concern dancing in their eyes.
There had to be an explanation for this. For all of it. Nothing bad was happening, it was just all a big misunderstanding. Briar was dead silent as I thanked them and walked with her into the Great Hall.
