Betrayer

Y/n POV
The next day was filled with laughter, and jokes, and so many smiles it was unreal. I haven't seen any of us be this happy in a very long time, it was already reaching nightfall by the time I sat down. "So how's your day been" Minho asks as he sits down beside me. "It's actually been really good, very happy" I smile back at him, I couldn't help but just smile..we were finally safe and had escaped from wicked for good.

I look down at aris sitting with Harriet and Sonya, "hey aris!" I yell and wave at him, he waves back. "Such a nice guy" I smile at everyone around me, "but I don't trust him yet" frypan speaks up. "Neither, but he has helped us a lot, we wouldn't be here without him" I shrug my shoulders and take another bite of my sandwich, "isn't as good as yours" i wink at frypan while placing my sandwich back on the plate, he winks back at me "I know" and we all break out in laughter.

Newt gets up from his seat and decides to sit down next to me, he places his hand on my thigh and squeezes it while smiling at me. "What are you doing..?" I ask as he ties a blindfold around my eyes and helps me to my feet.

"Newt I swear! If you've teamed up with Minho or someone to prank me, I'll never forgive you" I say while trying not to fall over my own feet.
"I wouldn't need to team up with newt to prank you, I'm the only one who can really get on your nerves" Minho's voice came from somewhere next to me. I roll my eyes, of course no one could see as I was still stuck in a blindfold. "Just tell me where we're going?" I groan, hoping he would feel bad and just tell me, "it's a surprise, you don't really want him to ruin it do you?" I heard frypan say from the other side of me. "So for this surprise.. I need my boyfriend, Minho, and frypan to take me?" I laugh at the fact all three needed to be there.

"So why isn't Tommy here too if the rest of us are?" I was holding onto newts and Minhos hands, trying to keep my balance. "Thomas went to find Teresa, he said he'd come over once he's finished" Minho laughs as I nearly fall over.

We finally stop and I reach up to take my blindfold off. "No stop not yet!" Newt makes me jump back a bit at his instant yells. I lower my hand by my side and huff to show everyone I'm beginning to get annoyed.
"Lose the attitude queen, it's almost done" Minho whispers down my ear making me shiver, I swing my arm back to hit him and catch his arm. I laugh at him groaning "how'd you always hit me in the right spot" he says before his voice fades further away.

"Right.. frypan, slowly take off her blindfold" newt spoke from a distance, I wonder what it could be? Maybe he made me something or wants to show me something. Frypan takes the blindfold off and I rub my eyes to adjust to what's going on. I couldn't see newt, all I could see were people from the camp standing in some sort of semi circle , I only noticed a few like, aris, Sonya, Harriet, Mary and vince.

Apart from some of our lot there I didn't notice many others, I start to laugh "very funny, where is he?" I sigh. I begin walking forward and everyone steps to the side, opening the semi circle. I lift my hands up to my mouth as I see candles lit all around in the shape of a heart, there were flower petals spread across the ground, almost like a trail for me to follow. It was beautiful, but still.. there was no newt, "follow them then!" Minho's shouts distract me i turn back to him with tears in my eyes "it's beautiful" I laugh, everyone began to aw at me crying.

"Right right I'm going!" I say, everyone cheers as I begin to follow the trail of petals. As I walk further down I see these wooden signs hung purposely on trees.. the first one read 'as you know y/n I love you very much..' a smile appears on my face as I read it, he went through so much effort just to see me smile. I carry on walking until I reach the second one 'and you know how much I want to spend my life with you, and have a family' my heart begins racing and I start to get excited, I feel so much love for this boy.

I come near to the end of the trail and I reach the third sign 'and I just want to know..' A confused look falls upon my face, surely that's not the last one.. I don't understand what does he mean. I walk out from the trail and still no newt, I start to get confused now. "Great.. so he has pranked me" i mutter to myself, sadness laced in my voice that my own boyfriend would do this to me.

I turn back around to see newt on one knee.. I gasp and he takes hold of one of my hands "and I just want to know.. Will you do me the honour of being my wife?" His words run around in my mind.. a wife? I didn't know what to say, so distracted by my thoughts. "Oh.. umm I'm sorry love.. is it too soon?" He asks.

"Yes.." I say excitedly, but his face drops.. "I didn't realise it was too soon, I'm sorry" he mutters and he looks down at the ground. I lift up his chin for him to face me "no I mean yes! I'll marry you" I grin at the smile forming on his face. He pulls a ring from his pocket, unsure where he had got it from I let him slip it onto my finger before embracing me into a hug. I tangle my hands in his hair "I love you so much newt" I whisper in his ear. "And I love you" at this moment I've never been so happy..
Everything was finally coming together for everyone and none of us could explain how happy we were.

We walked back to the trail but everyone had disappeared newts eyebrows furrowed "somethings wrong.." he mutters to himself while frantically searching around. "Maybe they got tired of waiting?" I suggest hoping I'm right. "No.. they were supposed to wait.. and Tommy is supposed to be here too" he speaks with panic. He tightens his grip on my hand as we walk towards the centre of the camp, my eyes grow wide at the sight.. everyone was lined up in rows on their knees.

"Wicked" i mutter and point to both faces I recognise 'doctor Ava Paige' and janson. Newt wraps his arm around my waist keeping me close. We were kneeling behind the rocks, trying to keep still.. I watch in horror as Teresa's face emerged from the crowd of wicked, she had betrayed us.. sold us out so they can use us, the anger starts boiling inside of me. I begin to get up but newt uses his spare hand to push me back down, he points to somewhere over the other side, Brenda and Jorge along with vince were sitting quietly in two Cars, getting ready to attack.

My focus turns back to wicked, Mary stands up and starts talking to Ava, I couldn't hear what they were saying but I watched as Ava raised her gun to Mary's chest and shot her. I see my brother begin shouting and my heart aches for him. I let out a loud cry, catching the attention of everyone else.. newt grabs me and hides behind the rocks as janson sent men to come and figure out the sound.

He whispers in my ear "you ready my love..3..2..1 now" I grab my gun from my shoe and stand up with it aimed at their chest, newt does the same.. it was two against three. In just a second, Brenda drives down to where the kids were being kept.. and all hell breaks loose.
