Lilian Carson POV

I blinked my eyes open and got used to the intense light. I was in excruciating pain throughout my entire body, as if I had been hit by a truck, and I had a splitting headache. I made an effort to recall the previous evening's events. It wasn't my designated room, I realised as I looked around. I recognised it as Alexander's room. Although I have been here before, I never imagined myself lying on his bed. The fact that he had already left is a plus.

I'm both repulsed and terrified. Alexander was a different person last night. He pushing me into the pool was the last thing I expected. He was probably aware of my fear, yet he continued to play that dishonest trick on me.

I suddenly had a flashback and remembered some of last night after I had passed out. Although it's fuzzy now, I do recall Alexander giving me medicine as I started to burn up. If memory serves, he also slept next to me. He didn't have to take care of me to brag; he could have left me for dead. Despite being appreciative of Alexander's assistance, I wondered about his motivations and if there was something else driving him. Was it really a fever-relieving medication? Has anything else taken place? I'm not sure if the medication worked, but after I took it, I dozed off, and my fever subsided.

I'll never be able to forget Alexander's actions from yesterday. This morning I felt much better, but I still can't get rid of the rage I have towards Alexander. If he hadn't intervened in time, I might have lost my life. I need to confront him so I can understand his intentions.

He cannot play with me; I am not a toy. In this business relationship, I should be respected and treated equally. If he is unable to do that, then... I took a moment to reflect. Then? I came to the conclusion that I lacked the authority to punish Alexander, and nobody would intervene to save me either. I started to make plans as I sat there. I understood that I needed to take my time and wait for the ideal chance to get away from Alexander's grasp.

I noticed that I needed to get ready for college as I considered the time. Jax's image appeared in my head. I'm hoping I don't run into him today on campus. He might not even recognise my face. We attended middle school together for a considerable amount of time ago. I despise guys like him and Alexander! They are both identical. They believe that the best tool for subduing others is fear. I refuse to let the past repeat itself. I won't allow Jax to mistreat me once more.

I get out of bed and proceed to my room. My clothes were changed into a nightgown as my previously worn clothes were wet, and no doubt Alexander took advantage of that situation. I couldn't care less! I need to talk to him and possibly work out some sort of agreement.

I took a shower, changed into something more comfortable, and then put on some makeup to hide the obvious signs of exhaustion on my face. I gathered my bag and left the room. When I asked a staff member where Alexander was, she replied that he was in the gym. I make my way to the gym. I could hear the sound of weights clanking as I walked up to the gym. I inhaled deeply and pushed open the door, hoping to converse with Alexander without difficulty.

It was a spacious indoor gym. The inch-thick layer of protective coating was glazed over the yellow hardwood floors. I had no idea what a gym actually looked like. I've only ever seen them in pictures before. Some commonplace objects, like dumbbells and treadmills, I could identify. Most of the things' names I didn't know.

Alexander—specifically, a half-naked Alexander—was where my gaze fell. He had a strong physique, a sculpted chest, six packs that were clearly visible, and a protruding abdominal v line. As he exercised, his dark hair became wet and frizzy, and his skin became shiny with sweat. As I watched him, I couldn't help but experience a flutter in my stomach, but it's just an attraction to his body, not his deadly personality.
