After 2 days
Lilian Carson POV
The clouds began to gather in the sky. Until now, the sky had been postcard-perfect, but it was changing. The beautiful cocktail-blue shade was beginning to darken into gravel-grey. Large pillows of cloud were forming, blotting out the old-gold colour of the sun.
I open my umbrella, my black dress shimmering under the sky light which was fading. Droplets of moisture began to drip from the leaves. Then the rainfall became more intense. A wall of rain moved over the oak and the drops were drumming against the canopy. So much rain was falling that the sound blurred into one long, whirring noise. My tears were matching the pace of the rain. My eyes were fixed on the tombstone in front of me, a loving father and a adored husband. Beside it was my mother's tomb. I am finally orphan now. I am moving out, leaving the past for good. I would try a fresh start. There is nothing here anymore for me.
I turn around and my eyes lay on that one person whom I was ignoring, Alexander Agnor. Beside him was Titus, holding an umbrella for Alexander. I can forgive but I cannot forget.
"Leaving?" He asked. I ignored him and walk past him. When I stare at him, I hate myself more. Specially after knowing the truth. I was just a compensation, he never loved me. He pressured my dad to do his dirty works cause I was my dad's weakness. My misunderstandings get the best of me and I hate myself even more. I walk over to the car where the driver was putting my bags. Florence was standing beside it.
"Are you sure about this?" Asked Florence. I nod and hugged her, she had tears in her eyes.
"Take care of the house, I am not sure if I'll come back" I said. She smiled and nod. If I stay here I'll became a victim of things I can't explain. Anyway I lost everything so there is nothing for me to stay and even there is someone I would like to forget him.
One last time I stare at the house then get into the car. The driver start the car. I guess it's time for me to say goodbye.
