He felt...odd.As his hands continued to tighten around the cool metal handle, he felt that familiar feeling of skin snapping and the horrid noise of metal scraping against flesh. His nose filled with the metallic smell that he had come to recognize as blood, the viscous liquid now pooling around him and soaking through his clothes.
"S-sto-" A hoarse, barely audible voice spoke out from underneath him. He wasn't expecting a girl's voice.
As his eyes nervously attempted to avoid her face, he soon would realize that was impossible, as the girl's hand reached up to grab his.
As soon as her cold skin came in contact with his own, he forced himself to look.
He never would've expected her to be you. Your usual skin so full of color, now painted a cruel shade of grey while your eyes matched.
Those eyes. Those gorgeous eyes he loved to look into every day, the ones that reassured him everything would be okay. They were drained of color, completely glossed over with no signs of life behind them whatsoever. And yet, they still managed to plea with him.
His own golden irises now flickered down to where he was holding the blade directly into your stomach, the redness of the blood now almost blackened as it spilled out of your wound. Your colorless hand continued to stay atop his own, your fingers occasionally shifting due to Kuroo's shakiness.
"N-no...no, I didn't! I-" His whole body trembled as he slowly looked back to you, your eyes now trained on his own, your brows furrowed together and your bottom lip quivering. Your chapped lips opened to speak, your voice dry and almost to a whisper.
You only uttered a single word, but it was enough to make every nerve ending in Kuroo's body tense.
"Liar."
~~~
Sunlight poured in through the window, it's beams invading through his eyelids as he awoke. Every hair on Kuroo's body was standing up, his eyes darting frantically around the room until they landed on the spot next to him.
His heart stopped when he realized you weren't there.
No...no I didn't.
I couldn't have!
I would never do something like that to her!As his breathing rate continued to rapidly increase, he felt his body react and he jumped out of bed, his feet hitting the cool wooden floor as he searched every crevice of the room. Under the bed, in the closet, even in his backpack, he searched for any sign that he had hurt you, anything to confirm your state. He was relieved, however when he eventually found nothing, but continued to search.
He became more frantic, every movement getting harder to handle as he continued to drop stuff he picked up due to his hands refusing to cooperate.
"FUCK!" He yelled as he started to grab at his hair, his chest heaving up and down and his head swiveling in every-which-way. "No, no, no, no, no...."
The sounds of the early morning birds were now drowned out by his own thumping heart, his ears ringing to where it pained him to have them uncovered. His hands flew over his ears as he fell to the ground, his legs not being able to support his weight anymore.
"No, no, no, no, no...please no. I didn't-I didn't do anything! Please, god, tell me I didn't..." His chest hurt as his voice strained, he could barely hear himself over the thumping of his own heart and the ringing that continued to stab at his eardrums.
"I've...I've gotta keep lookin..." He breathed and slowly got to his feet, practically dragging himself downstairs.
His hands remained covering his ears as he scanned the room. No sign of you.
