Sherlock rang the doorbell, and stood or a while tapping his foot. The door was opened and he went right in; to see that Mycroft was standing near the window, his back facing them -and Darlence was sitting quietly and dismally, back hunched. How unusual! Then it hit him -she got a telling off, atleast something could mellow her.

But somehow he felt the need to tell the truth, and blurted it out bluntly to Mycroft that Darlence was not as bad as she seemed and fought for no credit to herself, 'I don't say I'm encouraging detentions. But yu should be grateful to her atleast.'

'Is all that true?'

Dace nodded meekly thinking she had got a stricter, more parental brother than her parents themselves. Gosh, he really was scary! James Moriarty, Sebastian Moran had no real menace, compared to her eldest brother.

'I would choose Bloody Mary over Mycroft any day.' She told herself warily, even though Mycroft was now actually laughing. She shut her mouth in a depressed line and kept her eyes on the ground, when she looked up, she had what her few friends called her ''best face to make anyone listen to you'' eyes trained on either brother. The very picture of guilt.

'But what had happened?' asked Sherlock, 'Oh no, you don't look at me like that and expect me to sympathise wih you. Even though Mycroft had got detention too when someone asked him ''Hey, where is that little jerk, whom you call brother?'' and mycroft knocked his lights out.'

All trace of guilt vanished from Darlence's face and she looked straight at Mycroft. The poor man had suddenly found something very interesting with the ground, and was poking and prodding at it and clearing his throat every now and then as if he will unlock some secret passage if he did that.

'I'd got carried away.' he muttered in a cracked voice.

'Yes, and I had all plans to fight with Billy Johns and co.'

'Dace, sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.' said Sherlock.

'Say all those who are poor at it.'

'Darlence Anne Holmes!'

'You can deny it all you like. But you CANNOT use sarcasm without blundering. "Grapes are sour," says the fox that can't reach them.'

'Darlence Anne Holmes!'

'Yes I know my name very well, you have already said it twice!'

'Great one at back answering aren't you?'

'Am I, now?'

'Of course!'

"Indeed?'

'Now you two do calm down.' began Mycroft.

'You shut up.' said both of them looking at him, and they went back to glaring at each other like always.

A jolly voice in the doorway came in, 'Want some help Mycroft?'

'Doctor!'

'Well, hello Dacey, how was your day.'

'Eventful.' smiled Darlence. Cheerful people always cheered her up. Which probably meant that Sherlock's company was not at all good for her.

'What happened?'

So Darlence repeated the story, this time in a haughtier voice, and put in a chuckle or two at triuphant parts. John noticed she had got two new bruises on her face. It seemed that it was not Darlence who kept getting hurt, but hurt who kept getting Darlence- said the good doctor, 'Don't ask me what I meant by that though.' e added.

'Poor things!' remarked Sherlock,'I do symathise people who fall foul of Dace.' His little sister smiled at that but grimaced again.

'They could have atleast smiled at me'

'What?'

"Never mind.' she curled her lower lip.

'But you were a fool to fall in this.' said Sherlock nodding satisfiedly.

'Well, well. Had you not sent me off, this fool would have never fallen into this.'

'You are back answering again.'

'Am I--? Indeed I am!'

"Not again.' groaned the doctor.

'Sherlock.....Darlence' began Mycroft again.

'Just shut up!' said the two before returning to glare all over again.

[(A/N): Please don't mind the glaring, I really find it funny when siblings glare at each other instead of falling into a full blown fight. Me and my little brother are always fighting, and our older cousins are always glaring after a good quarrel. But if you do mind- write and tell me- I'll tone it down a bit. Thank you lovelies]
