Harry frowned and ruffled his hair again. You'd think after 16 years he'd learn it was untameable. Yet, here he was, in front of the mirror trying to make it at least seem presentable. He had tried combing it, re-washing it, and even some spells he'd learned from charms. His hair still looked as messy as ever, if not messier from him angering it.
Part of him knew Draco wouldn't give a damn about his hair, but still. Wasn't the first date supposed to be special? It wasn't like he could flatter Draco with his clothes. They were mostly hand-me-downs from Dudley and a few sweaters from the Weasley's.
Sure, after finding out about the money his parents had left him, he had bought some clothes. He decided to not buy much though. They had left it for his education, and he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he blew all of their life savings on clothes like a privileged muggle girl.
With a groan, he turned away from the mirror. Resisting the urge to bang his head against a wall, he walked back to his dresser. He dug pointlessly through the bland clothes. He'd have to ask Hermione. He didn't really date. Merlin, other than that kiss in his 5th year with Cho, he had never done anything with anyone. Not that you could really consider it a kiss. He immediately pulled away, it was kinda wet and gross.
Now he was going on a date to Hogsmeade with a guy who didn't need to try to be drop-dead gorgeous. He just was.
Harry sighed, giving in to the fact that he wasn't getting anywhere. He walked down to the common area in search of more knowledgeable people.
Draco had a much easier time than Harry but had still fumbled. He figured he shouldn't go on a date in just a sweater. He wanted to give off some kind of sex appeal.
So, with minimal consent, borrowed one of Blaise's leather jackets. It was one he didn't use often, and Draco was sure that Blaise wouldn't miss it for a day. The fingerless gloves might have also been borrowed...
He had put the black leather over a thick white t-shirt. It was cold outside, and he wanted some kind of protection from the cold.
The outfit was finished off with some black, ripped skinny jeans. He had played around with his hair but decided not to gel it. Instead, he combed it lightly while leaving it to poof slightly. It fit the more rugged outfit well.
He pocketed his wand in his jacket and walked from the Slytherin dorms. They had agreed to meet at the main entrance of Hogwarts at 8:30. From there they would take the path Hogsmeade.
Draco walked through the crowded halls full of excited students. Many were buzzing with joy, whether it was from winter holidays or a stress-free Hogsmeade weekend Draco wasn't sure.
He walked through the large doors onto the steps. Chilly December air greeted him. It was bearable, being warmer than usual. Yet the snow still stuck stubbornly to the ground without signs of melting, as if charmed.
He leaned against a large pillar, starring off at fields of white. There were a bit of students already leaving for Hogsmeade. Laughter and lighthearted chatter echoed from a distance. Draco could help but smile at the upbeat spirit.
"Did a motorcycle come with that outfit?" a teasing voice called from his left. He turned to see Harry laugh while walking up to him. Draco lifted an eyebrow, not exactly knowing what that meant. "Don't mind it, just a muggle thing. You look great."
Draco smiled at the bright grin covering the raven-haired Gryffindor's face. Harry was dressed in a jean jacket and matching jeans. He was wearing a black long sleeve shirt that reached midway up his palms underneath his jacket. A cough made Draco look back up Harry's eyes.
"This is the part where you tell me I look good too," Harry smirked, mischief dancing in his emerald eyes. Draco rolled his eyes playfully. He grabbed the sides of Harry's face with a smile.
"You look gorgeous," Draco praised softly, kissing Harry's forehead before pulling away. "Let's go before it gets too late."
Harry nodded, his expression practically glowing with excitement. They began to walk to Hogsmeade, light banter passing easily between the two. The trip seemed to fly by quickly as they talked about school and quidditch.
After a while, they had finally arrived at Hogsmeade. The small town was decorated with Christmas lights and soft carols filled the streets. Harry's eyes glittered at the enchanting sight. Even though this was his fifth time seeing Hogsmeade at Christmas time, it was just as magical as the first time. Muggles never had extravagant decorations like this. Not to mention Harry had always been stuck in the house, unable to see Christmas in its full beauty.
Draco watched the fantasized look on Harry's face with a fond smile. His eyes got caught on Harry's hair. He let out an involuntary snort at the sight. The sound broke Harry from his spell, making him look over to Draco in confusion.
"What are y-"
"Did you try to fix your hair?" Draco cut him off with a chuckle. Harry's face was immediately set aflame with a blush. He began to frantically wave his hands in denial.
"N-No! I didn't try-I mean-"
His frantic spluttering only fueled Draco's laughter. He reached out a hand to ruffle Harry's slightly poofed hair, cutting off the rambling. Harry met his eyes, his cheeks still flushed.
"It's okay. I like your hair messy," Draco smiled fondly, his laughter now finally receded. Harry smiled slightly. "Now, what are we doing, dork?"
"You're so mean!" Harry pouted. "I was thinking that we could Christmas shop before we head to the Three Broom Sticks for a bite to eat?" It came out like a question and Harry seemed to wait for Draco's approval of the plan.
"Sounds good. Let's go," Draco grinned, grabbed Harry's hand. Harry nodded excitedly.
"First, to the book store!" Harry pointed with his other hand, using the intertwined one to drag Draco, who simply chuckled.
It was going great. Yet, even while picking out books he's heard Hermione gush over, he couldn't shake the feeling. The feeling that something was about to go horribly wrong.

Sorry for the late chapter! My power went out and I prefer to write on my computer. Or else this would've been out earlier.
This is shorter because it was originally planned to have their entire date in one chapter, but I've decided to separate them for ✨spice✨
Love Y'all,
