The man, after observing the figure speed off, made a phone call.
"I need you to get me north of the city, however far you can" His raspy voice was lazy, but demanding.
The man on the other end was shocked by the sudden order but was interested as to why.
"I think I've found a new toy to join us." The patchwork-skinned man then ended the call. A few seconds later, a black mass appeared before him. Not wasting time, he stepped in. He came through on the outskirts of a field, and in the middle of it, he could see a girl with blond hair standing there. Then she started to laugh.
It sent a chill through him, goosebumps formed on his arms as the moonlight illuminated a girl that had insanity written on her face. He became frozen to the spot as she collapsed onto her knees and her laugh died off into a gruesome cackle. Without warning, a giant blast of air hit him, sending him flying back. The sound of the ground breaking apart was deafening.
If he didn't snap out of it when she collapsed, he could have very well be thrown far, possibly even to the outskirts of the city. Thankfully, he managed to change the flow of air by sending out a scorching hot fire but was still thrown far enough away that he lost sight of the girl. The ground beneath him started to shake violently, rushing upwards with him on top. As he came closer to the sky, he finally caught sight of the girl again. She had risen up along with him on a much smaller platform and solid walls of earth in the shape of a square around her. Everything was now quiet, and a gentle breeze carried a faint scream towards him before it cut out. The girl was sitting with her legs splayed to the side, her body leaning back and her arms and head hanging. The chills came back. Had she overdone it? Destroyed herself with her quirk?
Is she dead already? The thought made him move one foot towards her, making him realized just how far she was from him. Even with his fire, he wouldn't be able to reach her. Quickly reaching for his phone, he discovered that the screen was shattered from the blast, but was still able to call his companions. The black mass once again appeared in front of him, and two people stepped out. The first had a hand covering his face, and pale blue hair peeking out under a hood. The second appeared to be more of that black mass wearing a suit and a metal collar.
The man with the hand spoke first.
"What is the meaning of this Dabi? I was very busy just now to be so rudely pulled away you know." The man started scratching his neck with irritation.
"Well, Shigaraki, you should be more thankful," Dabi said, still watching the girl. Her chest was moving, but sporadically and desperately, as if her body was shutting down. I don't have time to explain. What a nuisance. "Take a look around you dumbass."
The man named Shigaraki twitched at being ordered around. "What did you say to me?"
"Shigaraki," the black mass spoke, "look." With one of his appendages, the shadow figure gestured to the surrounding area and the crater that had formed.
Shigaraki's eyes widened. "What is the meaning of this Dabi?"
Dabi, now noticing the girl's body was growing weaker, pointed towards the platform. "That girl, whatever her quirk is, caused this. But she overdid it. I think she would be a good addition to The League. However, that is if we can get to her fast enough. Kurogiri, get her back to the base."
The black mass halted, waiting for Shigaraki's response.
"If she dies, you have to take care of the body. She is your responsibility."
Taking that as agreeance, Kurogiri made a warp portal appear under the girl before making one in front of the three men. Dabi let out a quiet sigh of relief, this girl could easily die if he didn't move fast enough, but if they managed to save her, her power would be of much use.
