Freedom, at last. She felt no pain, no anger, nothing. She was free. Then she started to feel again.
No, no, NO! I'm not suppose- Overwhelming pain racked her body, her eyes wanted to open, tried to open, but she refused, wanting to go back to not living. The pain increased until it became too much, a void awaited her and it was coming fast.
"Don't make me clean up a mess, little girl."
What?! A raspy voice reached her ears, fending off the void. NO! Come back, please let me leave! The girl frantically reached out for the void, but the more she tried, the more pain she felt and the further away it got. Her eyes forced themselves open, a tiny slit in which she could see nothing. As more feeling returned to her body, the pain grew, but she could manage it. Her body's instinct to keep her alive kicked in.
A raspy breath drew past her lips, setting her lungs on fire. She desperately wanted to cough, but her body exhaled and drew in another rapid breath. As her chest moved, she could feel something else moving, too, something implanted into her. An appendage that was not natural. Her skin twitched as she felt fingers graze the unnatural thing in her chest and begin to pull it out.
A strangled scream passed her lips that was cut short as another breath was drawn in. Her eyes flew open at the sudden hole in her chest and the agony that came with it. Breaths were growing shorter as her eyes began to shut. Before they did, she caught sight of bright blue eyes and black hair. Somebody, who? Her thoughts jumbled together as her eyes closed.
A different void was there to greet her, not one of death but one of unconsciousness.
