The portal deposits the two of them off at one of the women's restrooms inside LA's international airport, LAX. It was slightly embarrassing for Jungkook, having to exit a woman's restroom, but Jeongyeon found it funny when women screeched at the sight of him and started yelling for him to leave whilst hitting him with their purses. Maybe being partnered up with Jungkook on this mission had its perks, Jeongyeon thought as she giggled at the scene.

Jungkook had just fled the bathroom upon request, rushing out as he straightened up his clothing. He rolled his eyes, and stormed away, towards the exit of the airport. Jeongyeon following behind with a smile on her face.

When they exited the airport, they grabbed a cab instantly and gave the driver the address to their destination. The driver mentioned the trip would take about thirty minutes, so the duo sat back and settled in for the drive.

"Ugh, does California have to be this hot?" Jeongyeon wondered to herself. They had only been in the state for an hour or so, and she was sweltering. California's heat was very different from Olympus, where it never got any hotter nor colder than seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit.

"I love California." Jungkook gushes, happiness radiating on his face as he looks at the scenery outside the car window, as it passes by.

"It will never beat home." Jeongyeon responds, referring to Olympus.

Jungkook rolls his eyes and turns to her. "You're such a homebody. Don't you want to explore and see what's out there? There's more to life than just home."

Jeongyeon scoffs. "Please, I explore enough while on my missions."

Jungkook frowns now. "That's not the same thing and you know it. I mean exploring without having a destination. Exploring just to have fun, instead of to work. Doing what you want, whenever you want, however you want."

"Sounds like a waste of time." Jeongyeon responds with distaste. The idea of wondering around aimlessly, or well "exploring" as people liked to call it, seemed like a giant waste of time and energy.

"I wasn't convinced that you actually enjoyed, let alone even wanted to do your missions, but now I am convinced."

"I like my missions." Jeongyeon confirms. "They keep me busy."

"Well you should enjoy them while you can." Jungkook supposes. "After you get married, I imagine there will be no more missions for you."

Jeongyeon's mind is brought back to her and Jimin's betrothal. She doesn't know how she feels about the idea of being betrothed. She never really had an interest in marrying, and now the option to do so is going to happen, soon, when she's never put much thought into the idea to begin with. She likes being independent, she knows, but being able to come home to someone sounds nice, in her opinion too.

And if that person is Jimin, Jeongyeon thinks, then that would just be icing on the cake. She's never mentioned this to anyone, but she's secretly in love with Jimin, and she doesn't know how or when it happened. She had planned on telling him about her feelings centuries ago, but he had disappeared. She had heard that he fled Olympus in order to escape marrying her.

The thought made Jeongyeon's heart ache. She loved Jimin, and he didn't love nor care for her in the same way. The idea was brutal to realize. And the notion that he purposefully left her, left their friendship behind just to escape marrying her left a Jimin sized scar on her heart.

Jimin was such a runt when they were kids. He was smaller than everyone else, and weaker. But Jeongyeon didn't care. Jimin was her best friend. The one who made her laugh when she cried, and the one who made her cry while she laughed. His personality was always so bright, caring and affectionate. He was Jeongyeon's favorite person, until he fled. Now that she hasn't seen nor interacted with him in centuries, she isn't sure how she feels about him.
