Swear To The Gods Above. Part 4.

The cab driver passes by the "Welcome to Busan" spherical archway that is centered in the city. Standing as a beacon to indicate to all travelers that they have officially arrived in Busan. Seeing the city, at night, with all of the lights is a beautiful sight, but makes Jeongyeon extremely nervous.

She's so close to seeing Jimin again after centuries, and she doesn't know how to feel about it. She figures she'll just go with the flow, when they finally meet. Let her emotions decide what she does and says. That's the only thing she can do. If she becomes mad, she'll feel guilty about it. If she becomes angry, she'll feel sad about it. If she becomes happy, she'll feel annoyed about it. So it's better for her to just go with the flow, and not focus on one emotion for too long.

The cab driver stops, and notifies them that they have arrived. Jeongyeon pays the kind man the money she promised, and exits the vehicle. Jungkook following her. They turn to each other and Jungkook says, "Well, we're here now. What should we do?"

Jeongyeon stops to think. This city is huge, and if they have to explore it in order to find Jimin, it will take quite a bit of time. They could ask around, but again, with how large the city is, asking around may not yield any results. Not to mention the coastal parts of this city. Jimin might not even be in the city, but more so on the coast. Basically there's a ton of places to look, and a ton of people to ask and Jeongyeon doesn't where to start. If her mother was here, she'd have a strategy already. A war plan on how to capture the enemy.

Jeongyeon tries to go into that mindset. Tries to think as her mother does. Surely being the daughter of Athena will help her to focus and form a strategy. She has her eyes closed, trying to formulate a plan, finding it difficult to due to the noisy city around them, when Jungkook nudges her shoulder.

"Jeongyeon, look."

Jeongyeon opens her eyes, and expects to see Jungkook maybe pointing to where Jimin might be. But what she sees instead, scares her. She looks down at her waist and sees the gold string of fate tied around her.

The gold string of fate is something only read about in books, as no one has actually seen it, nor experienced it in eons. The gold string of fate was something created by the original Gods. The ones that created Cronus. The Gods that gave life to all living things at the beginning of time. The string tethers you to someone or something, signifying that the person or thing is meant to be apart of your fate, somehow. The gold string of fate only appears during extremely dire situations. And the last time anyone say the gold string of fate in action, was during the war to defeat Cronus.

According to the stories, the gold string of fate tethered Poseidon to the sword he used to eventually kill Cronus. The gold string had tied itself around Poseidon one day and when Poseidon followed it, the gold string led him to the only sword in existence that could defeat Cronus, this defeating the titans. As the story goes on to tell, the big three Gods: Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon won the war and made Olympus what it is today.

If the stories are true, and the gold string of fate is tethering Jeongyeon to something or someone, she's scared about what this might mean. She's scared to think that maybe the prophecy about her and Jimin might be true, and that she's fated to marry him. There's only one way to find out, Jeongyeon thinks. She needs to follow the gold string of fate to see where it takes her.

Without much more thought, she runs off in the direction of the string, hearing Jungkook follow behind her. They run through the streets of Busan, mortals eyeing them as they rush past. They cut down alleys, and sprint across bridges. They cut through gardens, and jump over fallen trees. They run for what feels like hours, until finally the gold string of fate stops. Leading them to a convenience store located on the outskirts of the city.
