Jimin gives himself a pat on the back as he finishes up his last class of the day. He's successfully completed his first day of teaching at this new university and he's proud of himself. He never would have thought he'd be able to bounce back after the scandal. Never would have thought he'd be able to teach again. The thought was terrifying. He loved teaching. He loved being able to mold eager, impressionable minds. He thoroughly loved all of the work that teaching encompasses, and the idea that he may never be able to do what he loves again, was sorrowful.
But then his guardian angel, Kim Namjoon stepped in and gave Jimin a second chance. Not just at teaching, but a second chance at life. Jimin truly owed a lot to Namjoon for providing this opportunity, and for essentially pulling Jimin out of the dark depressive hole that he was in after the scandal.
At the thought of being able to teach again, Jimin accepted the job offer with no hesitation. The acceptance of the position meant he had to move from Busan to Seoul, but after everything that happened with the scandal, Jimin was more than willing to make the move. He packed up his things, with the help of his parents, and high tailed it out of Busan. Vowing to never look back.
A nice relocation package accompanied the job offer, so Jimin was able to move into a more than decently sized apartment that overlooked the Han River. After taking a couple of weeks to fully move to Seoul, the new semester finally began. And now here Jimin is, having completed his first full day of teaching.
He's beyond thankful that the courses he's teaching this semester cover content that he's genuinely interested in. He's also thankful that his students seem well-mannered and behaved, because Jimin doesn't know if he can handle another rebellious student. Thinking of his students, Jimin's mind goes back to one in particular. Miss Yoo.
Jeongyeon was definitely the only difficult student he's had the entire day. She was very clearly not paying attention, and the realization made Jimin frown. A part of him was annoyed at the fact that a student couldn't bother to pay attention on the first day of class. But another part, a larger part, was more concerned. Jimin was concerned at the idea that a student of his would fall behind so early on in the semester. He couldn't help having this concern, as he's notorious for his student's high rates in academic success, after all.
Nonetheless, Jimin decided to speak to the girl after class just to make sure she was okay. He was pleased to hear that the girl was genuinely interested in the class, and he couldn't help himself from joking around with her. He's always been close with his students, as he's the type of professor that actually cares for his student's education. Instead of those professors who only lecture and don't care whether their student's actually learn anything. Those types of professors shouldn't be teaching, Jimin thinks, but that's a whole other conversation.
Due to his usual closeness with his students, Jimin felt comfortable with being playful and even winking at Jeongyeon. He hoped she was comfortable with the interaction too. Her facial expression, and body posture showed that she seemed to be congenial towards Jimin's actions. At least that's what he hopes was the case.
After their interaction, Jimin tried hard to immediately leave the room and go about the rest of his day. But something within him told him to stay put, to stay still. Watching as Jeongyeon left the room. He honestly couldn't stop himself from doing that. Jimin had to admit to himself that he found the student to be very gorgeous. Jeongyeon was definitely one of the prettiest women Jimin has ever seen. And as she left the class room that morning, Jimin couldn't help but to take note of her perfect body proportions. She was stunning, from head to toe.
Unfortunately, said girl was completely off limits, and Jimin needed to remind himself of that. He got this teaching position based on a promise of avoiding scandal by any means, and Jimin plans to keep that promise. He might not be able to show interest in Jeongyeon, but he can at least keep an eye on her. Especially if doing so, means that he can ensure she does well in the course.
