why can't you love me the way i love you?
it seems like every time we talk there's always a new fling.
a new boy.
i repeatedly feign a smile,
in fear of conveying hatred towards the little boys
with big egos.
they don't deserve you.
they don't see you the way i do.
the way your hair shines in the sun,
or the way your eyes sparkle at night.
i spend hours staring at the ceiling,
convincing myself it's merely platonic.
but who am i kidding?
i want to be yours.
