"WHO WANTS COFFEE!?" someone yells as soon as the elevator opens. Then I see his face. It's him. It's. Him.
As all the detectives run over to get coffee from him, I stare in amazement at his beauty. Perfect hair, perfect clothes, perfect everything. This could only mean one thing. It's Richard Castle.
"Jess! Get over here, girl! Come meet Castle!" My body is completely numb. How could I be formally meeting one of my most favorite people ever?! "Hi, Jessi. Nice to meet you. I'm Richard Castle." "Hi. Nice to meet you too. I've met you before at one of your book signings, but I'm sure you don't remember. You probably don't remember half of the people you sign books for, you meet so many. I really love all of your books, especially the Nikki Heat series. They're so good! I read them all." I notice everyone is staring at me with wide eyes. "I'm babbling on about nothing, aren't I?" "Yeah, kind of." Espo says. "Sorry. Anyway, before I went all fangirl on you, what I was trying to say was that... you are really amazing. You're a role model to me." I suddenly hear a laugh from behind me. It's Detective Beckett. "Ha ha, good one. Role model. You should be a comedian, kid!" she says. I don't even know how to respond to that. Castle just completely ignores her. He must get that a lot from her. "Why thank you. That's very sweet of you. It's so nice to met you... Jessi, right?" "Yeah," I say. "We'll talk later?" Castle says to me. "Definitely," I say.
When Castle walks away, I turned to Espo. "I looked like a complete freak, didn't I?" I ask him. "Nooo... uhh... you were..." "Just say yes or no!" "Yeah kinda." "Damn it. I knew it." "Hey, you think he doesn't deal with girls like you on a day-to-day basis?! Don't worry about it. You have the whole summer to try again."
I sigh, feeling like a loser. "I'll get back to filing papers."
