Elora's POV:
"Shit." I slowly turn around in my seat to face my brothers who are now standing right in front of me.
"Get up." Matteo says to me. What did I even do wrong? I rise from my seat knowing that if I resist, they'll make an even bigger scene than they already have.
"You both too." Val says to Alex and Russell. What are they involving them? We make our way to the hallway and I try to ignore the stares aimed directly to me from my classmates.
"What the fuck was that?" Val asks us.
"What?" Alex, Russell, and I all say at the same time.
"You running off like that!" This time it was directed towards me.
"Oh come on, you knew where I was gonna be" I rolled my eyes while saying.
"Watch your attitude. Of course we knew where you were going, but I don't trust those shits over there so from now on, you drive to school with us." Val orders me.
I just nod, knowing that this is Val's way of showing that he cares for me.
"Were you trying to hide that you're our sister." Marcello asks me, with a bit of a sad look in his eyes.
"Yes." I say bluntly. Shit, I could have probably worded that better.
"Why?" Matteo says while looking like he's about to burst out crying.
"Maybe because you guys run a literal mafia?" I hiss back. Okay, maybe I should try being a little nicer.
"Not good enough." Val rolls his eyes while dragging me back to the cafeteria.
"Val, what are you doing?" I question him. "Val?"
"Hey listen up shitheads." He addresses the students in the cafeteria. Shit, this is not happening right now. I try to get out of his hold, but he's too strong. "This is my little sister Elora. Don't mess with her, until you want to deal with me. Got it? Good." He lets go of me and walks back to his table, Marc and Matteo following behind him.
I walk back over to my table, feeling embarrassed knowing that everyone is staring at me. I sit down and realize that Nate and Noah didn't know about my brothers yet. Ugh, why does everything have to be so complicated.
"You're a Maranzano?" Noah and Nate whisper yell at the same time.
"Yes, we know. Now get the fuck over it." Noelle snaps at her brothers. This seems to shut them up.
We keep eating lunch in an awkward silence, and I metally curse at my brothers for potentially ruining our friendship.
"So what do you guys have next?" Noelle asks. Thank god for her.
"History. You?" I tell her.
"Same, wanna sit next to each other?" She asks me, completely ignoring her brothers.
"Sure." I shrug and smile a bit.
"What about us," Nate, Noah, Alex, and Russell all ask at the same time. Damn, that was weird.
"Figure something out." Noelle and I say simultaneously. I'm seriously started to think that it's actually the two of us that are related.
We all stand up from the table and head over to history class. On our way out, we pass by my brothers table and I take the opportunity to flick all of my brothers in the head.
"What the fu-," Val starts.
"Watch your language, brother." Is all I say before walking past their table and out of the cafeteria.
I go throughout the rest of my classes, a few with Noelle and her brothers and all with Alex and Russell. After school, I get permission from Val to let Alex and Russell drive me back home.
"Want us to come in?" They ask when we arrive at my brother's house.
"That might not be the best idea. I'll call you tonight." I tell them before opening the car door. We say our goodbye and soon enough I'm at the front door. I open it slightly and step through. I let out a sigh when I see that my brothers are nowhere to be seen. I guess they got over the thing from this morning. I start walking up to my room, relaxed knowing that my brothers aren't going to murder me. Well, at least not today.
"Elora."
"Ah!" I let out a shriek. I turn around to face Enzo. "Holy shit Enzo, you scared me."
"Language, Elora." I just nod at this. He gives me a pointed look, so I say, "Yes, Enzo."
"How was school." He asks.
"Good, I met some people." I give him a brief answer.
"Good, now go make sure you finish all of your homework." He tells me. I give him a quick, yes and finish walking to my room. I smile a little, thinking I'm not in trouble from this morning. "Oh and next time you should do as I say, Elora." He says as I'm closing my door. Shit. Just the sound of him saying that sentence sends chills down my spine.
I go to put my backpack down and take my phone and computer out of it. I set up my textbooks on my desk and start my homework. We're reading Romeo and Juliet in English. How does anyone even like this shit? I decide to take a little break to go on my phone. Okay, maybe a little more than a little.
"Come down for dinner." Matteo says, suddenly in front of me.
"Coming." I tell him. "And don't worry about it, I didn't want you to knock anyways." I mumble once he's out of the door.
A/N: And that's chapter 25!
I'm so sorry that it's so short, I haven't had anytime at all to write bc of some things going on and I wrote this all quickly last night.
I'm going to try to write more often, but I can't guarantee very frequent update. I'm so sorry abt this, and I hope you all still continue to read this book.
