a sudden loud, bombastic and distorted sound was heard through the whole dorms. it was completely unexpected. kirishima started playing. every one in the room started bopping their heads to the beat.

"let's go!" bakugo shouted at the beat drop.

ohhh!

they all started singing, bakugo's voice was heard a bit more.

the other four all simultaneously played their instruments, cooperating and uniting to perform a rambunctious melody. they jumped around for a few seconds, the crowd following them.

it started.

y/n looked at denki as he sang. he had an amazing voice. it was pretty mellow and soothing, which was ironic considering what they were playing, but it just made sense. as he sang the whole first verse, y/n kept smiling, listening to the lyrics and its meaning.

then, bakugo loudly sang the beginning of the chorus. his hoarse voice was adding a lot of depth to the song. there was just something about it.

the list of things she found attractive about him kept getting longer and longer with every minute that passed. she shook her head while laughing, in disbelief that she felt such a strong attraction towards such an asshole.

they now all sang together. y/n just stared. it wasn't the type of music she ever saw herself listening to, let alone like, but here she was, unconsciously bobbing her head and tapping her foot to the beat.

sero, mina and denki were going crazy with their guitars. kirishima was beating the drums like there was no tomorrow, his gaze fixated on mina. he thought she looked beautiful under the lights.

they were intensely jumping to the beat, the lights started flashing, making everything ten times more intense. the crowd got even louder, they were cheering, drinking, laughing.

something about hearing this song made y/n want to bang her head, go crazy, howl at the moon and even do things that would make her regret everything the next morning... deku did look a bit too hot at this moment.

she kept her composure though, standing still and clapping here and there. she didn't want to make bakugo seem like he was right.

now mina was singing the second verse. her voice had a preppy vibe to it. y/n wasn't surprised.

then there was the chorus once again, where bakugo took the lead. they way he'd look at her whenever the crowd got louder irked her. he was getting his point across, because she was enjoying this as much as everyone else was.

they all sang together again, the energetic delivery of their vocals making y/n widely grin. they were so. fucking. cool. as every second passed, she found herself falling more in love with this new genre of music.

then came the bridge, they all stopped playing loudly, the melody of the music suddenly switching up to something a bit more soft.

i'll leave you choking on every word you left unspoken, rebuild all that you've broken and now you know.

sero sang, his deep voice resonating throughout the whole room. he looked at y/n, winking at her. the girl chuckled, looking away out of shyness.

both him and kirishima slowly increased the intensity of the bass and drums.

bakugo looked proud for a second. sero wasn't the type to sing in their songs. he didn't think he was cut out to be a singer, saying multiple that he would rather stick to the bass and keyboard, but his band mates thought otherwise. they loved his voice, and so did everyone else.

katsuki then walked to kirishima, placing the mic right in front of his mouth and resting his other arm over his shoulders. kirishima smirked at his best friend, repeating what sero sang, but with a higher pitch.

denki and mina joined in, both of them walking to take the center of the stage and doing their thing, leaning on each other's backs.

denki rested his head on her shoulder, looking up at the ceiling. he was directly under one of the lights. you could see the beads of sweat sliding down his temple to his chin, his lips slightly parted and his chest heavily rising up and down from being out of breath.

wow. y/n exhaled.

the beat dropped once again. they sang the chorus together one last time, giving it their all.

fuck it. y/n joined the crowd, jumping and cheering them on. she loudly sang with them. she haven't felt this confident in herself in so long. the beat just made her feel so... sexy? bakugo jumped back to the center, joining mina and denki.

every scar will build my—

kirishima's hands started beating the drums even faster, if that was possible. y/n couldn't even follow.

the music abruptly stopped.

— throne.

they sang.

they were done. the crowd cheered and applauded for the last time. katsuki dropped the mic, the piercing sound resonating throughout the room. no one seemed to care. y/n shook her head, laughing to herself. holy shit, those guys are insane.

she was intrigued. she wanted to know more.

how did she feel about rock? she fucking loved it.
