As I went with Walker back to her house I glanced up at her eyes and examined them. Contacts. I could the edge of the circle of one of them and from the side they made the color part of her eyes pop out more.
A wig and contacts?
What is she hiding..?

The Next Day~
Walker didn't come to school again the next day and throughout enrichment I told Shawn about everything I had seen. "Okay man, yes she's skinny and looks a bit unhealthy but I was being dramatic she doesn't look that bad." He said shaking his head at me like I was crazy. So maybe it was just all in my head.
That's when a girl walked into the class and I looked to see if it was Walker but it wasn't. "You must be my new student!" The teacher said excitedly. "Miss.. wait.. Miss Jones?" The teacher looked up from her paper surprised. "Yes ma'am." The girl responded nodding. "Huh.. we have another girl with the last name Jones. Are you related?" The teacher asked still looking surprised. "Yeah I'm her sister." She said with a small grin. "Well there happens to be an empty seat next to your sisters, you're welcome to sit there." The teacher cheerfully pointed at the desk in front of mine. The girl looked a bit older than Walker. Maybe even a bit too old for high school. She had long deep brown hair, two braids on each side of her head pulled tight to a hair clip on the back of her head. She didn't look like Walker very much but you could see that they were related for sure. She was skinny but definitely not as skinny as her. She was much tanner and looked neater. She was wearing a short a light blue dress with flowers. Her eyes were forest green and she had freckles dotted across her nose. Or at least that's how I saw her. She was pretty. Her skin was perfect. Of course not nearly as pretty as her sister.
"I'm so sorry I'm late!" a familiar voice said causing me to jump out of my skin. I looked up quickly. "That's alright Miss Jones" the teacher said smiling. It was Walker and she looked so much worse.. That's when I noticed her clothes. She had on a dark hoodie and a pair of dark skinny jeans. She rushed to her seat and sat down, nearly dropping all of her books to the floor. She turned to look at me as if to say hello, but stopped mid-turn to look at the girl next to her. They both stared at each other. Walker's face got pale and she looked nervous, as if she had seen a ghost. The girl in front of me gave her a smug grin.
"Well hello Bonesy." She said as if she had one the ultimate bet. It looked like were in some kind of sisterly competition.
"There's two of them bro." Shawn whispered into my ear.
Yeah.. There were two of them.
"What are you doing here?" Walker hissed, not breaking eye contact with her "sister". The girl in front of me turned her whole body to face Walker and leaned in towards her, whispering something in her ear. Walker looked around the room, then stopped on Shawn and I with a nervous look. "Oh."She replied before giving her sister a smile that looked forced.
When the bell rang they both stood up in unison and walked out of the room together.
Shawn and I exchanged glances and he motioned for me to follow him.
"Something weird is going on with those two dude. I want to know what. I think you do to. So, I think we should investigate." He whispered, looking around to make sure no one could hear him.
"What are we? Ten year olds?" I scoff, rolling my eyes at him.
He shook his head and glared at me then looked around again.
"Listen man, you know just as well as I do that all of this is off. Walker looks deadly thin and unhealthy. She's been going here for a little while and we're halfway through the school year and her sister just magically appears out of nowhere? I don't know bro, it's all kinda sus to me." He says closing his locker.
"Okay. Yes, you're right. But what if we don't find anything? Then we'll look stupid or creepy at that point." I said, leaning up against the lockers.
"Alright, so we don't get caught. Meet me out front after school. We'll come up with a plan then." He said and spun around, disappearing into the sea of students.
I admit that Walker and her sister were kinda odd. But spying on them felt wrong. I was conflicted. I felt like I needed to know what was going on with Walker. But I wasn't her boyfriend. I'm just Ben. She barely notices me unless I approach her anyway so why do I care so much. I can't help it.
When the final bell rang I looked around the class but Walker had already left. When I got outside I saw the girls standing by Walker's bike. They looked like they were having a serious conversation so I decided not to interrupt. Then they started to walk away and I was so curious about all of this that I found myself following them. When they went down the alley that leads to Walker's house they stopped and faced each other.
"Ben!" Shawn suddenly hissed in my ear.
I practically leapt out of my skin and whirl around.
"Don't do that!" I hissed back and quickly checked to make sure that the girls didn't hear us.
They were still facing each other talking. I let out a sigh of relief and turn back around to face Shawn.
"So I see you decided to spy on them after all." He said grinning at me.
"Yes now shut up before they hear us!" I yell-whispered at him before turning my attention back to the girls.
Then Walker started to grab at her hairline and pulled her wig off. I was shocked to see short, shaggy, dark brunette hair. She looked a bit like a boy. There was a strange mark across her hair line that looked irritated and red. Had she fused the hair to her head somehow? Then she pulled out contact lenses. Beneath the contacts her eyes were such a dark brown that they were almost black. I had to hold my hand over my mouth to keep from gasping. The taller girl put her arm around Walker's shoulders as they slowly walked away. I could hear her say "much better."
"Hey Walker! Wait up" I yelled as I ran towards the two. I was desperate for answers. Both girls turned around slowly and Walker looked shocked. She glanced at her wig then back at me. Even Shawn was surprised and had chased after me. When I got closer I just stopped and stared at her. She looked kind of ashamed and couldn't make eye contact.
"Now why would you want to hide this..? You're still the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.." I said smiling at her. She looked up at me as if she didn't expect me to react that way. Then she smiled back and her eyes brightened a little. "Oh.. uh Ben this is my sister." She said looking at the tall girl next to her. "Hey I'm Charlie." Her voice was low for a girl but it suited her. "It's nice to meet you." I said nodding. "Walker never mentioned she had a sister" I added awkwardly. "Sounds about right." Charlie said glaring at Walker who just gave her a half smile back. "I'm sorry who is this goon?" Charlie asked looking Shawn up and down. "That would be Shawn. He's in my class." She said smiling at him. Charlie didn't seem to care but she hardly ever broke her eye contact with me. She did not look very happy.
