Chapter 11: Bad Influence
YN's P.O.V
I struggled to unravel myself from his tight grip, my body trembled only wanting to escape and runaway. Justin promised he didn't intend to hurt me on purpose, but it's getting worse and more frequent. "Mommy?" I heard a small voice behind Justin, it was Skylar clutching onto her teddy bear as she looked at Justin and I in suspicion. What's a 4 year old supposed to assume when they see their father threatening their mother? Justin let go of me before turning around to see Skylar giving him a confused look.
"Sky, hi!" Justin slurred as he bent down to Skylar's height, she stepped back and glanced over to me. I shook my head vigorously trying to send her a signal to stay away. "What's wrong..." Justin asked, he opened his arms but Skylar refused to hug him.
"G-go back to bed sweetie, I'll be there in a minute," I managed to smile through my petrified expression, Skylar dotted back into her bedroom as I let out a sigh of relief. "Justin I want you out of the house..."
"What?" Angrily, Justin turned back to me, his eyes burning through me.
"You're drunk and it's not safe for Skylar-"
"I decide what is safe for this family," he argued back,
"You're pathetic Justin! You label me as the awful wife and mother when you're in the wrong-"
Justin pushed my body onto a wall, his strong hands gripped my delicate neck. My lungs were suffocating, gasping for air as Justin stared at me with his soulless eyes. "I am not pathetic!" Justin shouted through gritted teeth, I closed my eyes praying for the torture to end.
"Justin stop..." I mouthed the words since my voice became inaudible, his grip loosened once he realised I was on the verge of suffocation. I couldn't take it anymore, I ran into the bedroom and locked the door to make sure Justin couldn't get in. He banged on the door, begging for me to let him in.
"YN I'm sorry...I'm so sorry," I heard him apologise, I could tell he was sobering up but I still didn't forgive him. I know the next day Justin will use the excuse that he was drunk and under influence, that's why he put his hands on me. But it hasn't been the first time, I should have listened to Dylan when he said 'the first time is the start of many'. Thankfully I was going to visit my parents tomorrow, I'm not going to tell them about Justin hurting me, but I just want to see them before I leave L.A. I might just have to leave L.A sooner than I expected, but I refuse to go back to Canada where I can't see my family and Justin will take that as an advantage. I know he needs help but I can't provide that help for him and I don't know who can.
----------------------------
The next day I woke up early to get Skylar ready to visit her grandparents. When I walked down stairs I saw Justin sleeping on the couch with is mouth slightly opened and his hair in a mess - he looked like a disaster, he still reeked of alcohol. Ignoring him, I continued to the kitchen to make Skylar and I breakfast, I heard her little footsteps climb down the stairs before I saw her stroll to the kitchen island table and sit down on a bar chair.
I heard her giggle and I furrowed my eyebrows, wondering why she was so amused, "whats so funny?" I asked smiling,
"Daddy. He's being so silly sleeping on the couch," she giggled, my smile disappeared once I looked at Justin and rolled my eyes in annoyance,
"Yeah...daddy can be an idiot, can't he," I said jokingly but inside I was being honest.
"He looked really scary yesterday, what was wrong with him?" Skylar asked worried, Skylar didn't understand what being drunk really meant, so she had no idea why Justin was slurring, stumbling and acting different. But since Justin has been drunk in various occasions I think Skylar is starting to vaguely understand, which is exactly what I didn't want - I don't want my daughter being influenced in Justin's bad habits.
