Chapter 17: Disappearance

YN's P.O.V

Staring through the window, the moon was glowing in the starry, night sky. A few clouds covered the moon's view, it all seemed spooky to me. Especially since I was still awake in a dark hospital room with an unconscious person lying on the bed. I find it impossible to sleep because I fear something will happen while I'm asleep. I barely eat anything because I've lost my appetite and it seems nothing can distract me from leaving this room. Justin's been unconscious for over 4 fucking weeks and I can tell the doctors are losing hope from how unresponsive he's been, but I know there's still time. People can have comas for over a year before waking up, right?

I didn't realise how silent it was until I turned round. It's not supposed be this silent. The heart rate monitor stopped. Rushing to the bed I grabbed Justin's hand in a panic, hoping I'd feel a pulse or something. Nothing. "SOMEONE HELP!" I shouted, pressing the button near the bed which gives the doctors an emergency signal. It didn't take long until Dr Osbourne and a couple of nurses ran in to Justin's attention.

"Patient's heart rate unclassified, stopped at 67," Dr Osbourne told the nurses all these senseless reports as she tried to help. I had no clue what she was talking about.

"W-When I turned round the machine just stopped beeping, I-I don't know what happened!" I blurted out, "what's wrong with him?" I asked but no one would answer. It just made me more worried as I sat down on the chair and didn't dare to turn my gaze away from Justin, the doctors kept rushing round as they knew a life was depending on them. "Can someone please tell me what's going on!" I yelled in aggression.

"Switch defibrillator at 72 beats," Dr Osbourne said holding defibrillator in her hands before pressing it against Justin's chest, "Go!" Justin's body jolted as the electric shock went through his body, it was probably the most terrifying thing to watch, I covered my mouth with my trembling hands hoping it would all stop.

"85 beats!" "Go!" She kept shouting but there was no difference! He wasn't responding! I could see the nurses passing each other sympathetic looks as if they knew it was the end.

"No! Justin!" I shouted as I ran up to his bed and grabbed his hand, "please don't do this, stay with me baby, please," I begged endlessly but it was no use. A few tears from my eyes landed on his hand as I let go of the hold, I've lost him.

"I'm so sorry Mrs Bieber," I felt Dr Osbourne's hand on my shoulder.

Heavily breathing I woke up in a shock and realised I was sleeping on a chair in Justin's hospital room, I looked over to him to find him sleeping peacefully with the sound of the beeping heart rate machine. I hate my mind for playing scary tricks on me like that. Sighing to myself I walked over to Justin and held his hand like I would usually do, my phone vibrated in my pocket of which I answered. It was Zoe.

"Hi Zoe," I groaned into the phone,

"Y-YN I'm so sorry!" She cried, I furrowed my eyebrows wondering why she was apologising, "it's all my fucking fault!-"

"Zoe slow down. What's wrong? What happened?"

"It's Skylar," she replied, the minute she mentioned her name I felt my heart stop and I stood up quickly, "w-when I went to check if she was sleeping upstairs she wasn't there," Zoe stuttered.

"What do you mean she wasn't there? Did you look all around the house?"

"Of course, more than four times and she's nowhere to be found. Although your bedroom window was opened," she said. That's the same window I closed because I thought Justin opened it, "oh god! It's all my fault!"
