(Who's ready to discover a new kink? This one is pretty vanilla but apparently uncommon)

I cringe spitting out the paint water...this is the second time today. I'm a very special kind of idiot apparently.

I grab my mug and get my ACTUAL water rinsing out the chalky taste from before.

The watercolor wasn't turning out how I want. I wanted to compliment the reds in his wings with greens but it just didn't look right. I knew I should have just gone with sky blue.

I was a illustration artist. After running the hamster wheel for 2 years though I now am taking time off to do what I want. Just a 6 month break to create what I want and be inspired.

Today I was practicing celebrity portraits. There was something about pro hero Hawks that fascinated me. He had those big wings with the lean build. Many heros were built like all might or Endeavor. There are of course lean ones like woods but something about Hawks caught my eye.

This month I have managed to make all the top 10 into watercolors but Hawks. I couldn't get it right. No matter how much I study wings, birds, poses, or his interviews I couldn't get the pose right. He is so relaxed yet his wings hold so much natural intensity.

They all were ok but just not enough. I took my scans and posted them on my media. It was a process. These works weren't really worth making prints of.

Before I knew it I was back at it again. I sat by one of my favorite coffee shops and watched a recent video of the bird like hero fly through the sky. I was originally sketching the flowers outside but now I was studying and sketching the hero. I had one good one of his face I was feeling particularly proud of adding the flowers i was studying to make a flowercrown. I was working on the facial hair trying to get it just right to be light yet noticeable.

"Wow, a flowercrown and all huh?"

I jumped slamming my knee up into the table with a hiss before looking at who was talking.

I met avian honey eyes, he had a playful smirk while leaning over the back booth next to me, "If you want to be correct you need to add a dimple right~" he leaned over the booth reached out to point to the corner of the drawings mouth, "Here"

"I...um." all thought processes stopped. I felt embarrassed caught drawing a person in public. I slowly closed my sketchbook feeling awkward

"Aw, don't close it. You're drawings are really good. Actually there is an artist I follow on Instameter that has a similar art style called (Y/N)"

My face now burned feeling even more awkward, "I...am (Y/N)"

"Oh shit, you serious?" He swiveled into my booth sitting next to me also effectively trapping me in the booth, his wings seeming squished "I love your work! You posted the top 10 the other day"

"Yeah. I'm on break from my usual stuff"

"So you're drawing me? Can I see again?"

I open the page back up and he leaned in closer looking at it, "Its uh, not the best. Its just a sketch"

"Its great. I love seeing art of me. Especially from my favorite artist"

"I never thought of you as an art critique"

"I recently got into it. About 3 months ago a Rococo painting was stolen and I was on the case. I got into art stuff while hunting the thief"

I could only smile.

"So why are you drawing me? Fan of my good looks?" He gave a smirk

"To be honest, you're a challenge, I guess. It's hard to draw you. I can't get it right"
