Calling all the liars

The next day, the group was walking down the street Addison used to live on when they saw her mother, their mothers and the police and they looked at each other before walking toward them
"What's going on?" Roxy asked and her mother sighed with a saddened look
"They found Addison's body" Olivia said
"That's impossible, Addison was in that fire" Roxy said and Olivia shook her head
"No...she wasn't" Olivia said with tearful eyes as the coroners walked by with a body bag and Roxy watched them load it into the back of the van

The group walked toward the lake in silence before they sat down in the sand
"Do you think?" Nessie started
"What?" Jason and Roxy asked in unison
"That someone killed her" Jesse finished
"I-I don't know what to think. Part of me wants to think that she killed herself but another part is telling me that she was murdered" Roxy said
"How'd it go with the diary last night" Jason asked as Roxy pulled it out of her bag
"I don't know. I couldn't read it" Roxy said
"Can I?" Jason asked and Roxy handed it to him and he opened it
"So, why couldn't you read it" Jesse asked
"Because it's her dead sister's diary" Nessie said and they looked to Jason who was staring at it intently
"Did Maeve ever go out with Nick Fox?" Jason asked
"What? Of course she didn't, she hated that guy" Roxy said confusion written all over her face
"What made you think that?" Nessie asked as Jason handed it to Roxy
"This is Addison's diary" Roxy said
"Why did your sister have Addy's diary?" Nessie asked
"I don't know. Maeve was secretive and vindictive, I couldn't ask her anything, my mom would ask her where she was and she'd say it was none of her business, Maia knows everything about Maeve, maybe she'd know" Roxy said
"We should hand that in to the police, if Addy was murdered like we think, then they'll have a lead" Jesse said
"What if Maeve didn't go missing" Jason said
"What?" They said in unison
"Maeve went missing a month after Addison, the police said it was a coincidence but what if Maeve killed Addy and left" Jason said and Roxy shook her head
"No, you saw what we saw, that was not a coincidence. Joey killed my sister, maybe he did the same to Addy" Roxy said and Jason sighed
"You're right, we shouldn't jump to conclusions" Jason said
