Chapter 4

---Lukes POV---

"WHERE'S MY GRACIE?!" We heard a girl yelling from the hallway.

"What in the hell is that about?" David asked as he opened the door to be shoved out of the way by a short black headed girl.

"Aye, what was that for?" David asked as Flame walked around the corner.

"You back off pretty boy! What happened to my sweet Gracie?" She started to cry as she knelt down next to Rain.

"Gracie?" I asked closing the door after Flame walked in.

"Gracie is Renees nickname for Rain. Makes no sense unless your one of those two." Flame rolled his eyes as he leaned against the wall.

"Is she okay? When will she wake up so I can yell at her for going outside by herself?"

"The nurse said she's just suffering from blood loss so she's fine. I'm not sure when she'll wake up, maybe when the adrenaline wears off?" I took my seat by Rains feet and watched her chest fall and rise as she breathed.

"Are you guys okay? That's a scary situation to be in. I know she's going to be apologizing like crazy when she wakes up."

"She doesn't need to apologize. We're fine." Brad said as he kept his eyes out the window.

"Why would she apologize anyways?" Tomi asked while he stretched.

"Just because that's who she is. She knows it's not her fault but she will feel guilty because if she hadn't signed up for that contest you'd all be somewhere else and probably not in a hospital. That's just how she thinks." She started brushing the hair out of Rains face.

"I'm surprised people can think like that.. I mean I know it happens quite a lot but to blame yourself when you're the victim.. it's hard to think like that." James scratched the top of his head.

--Rains POV---

"Like I said, that's just who she is.." I heard Renees voice. I could hear everyone talking around me but I couldn't seem to open my eyes.

"I'm just glad she's okay. She's going to have a nasty scar though." Lukes voice filled my ears making my heart skip a beat. You could even hear it on the heart monitor. If my body was able to make my face blush at this moment, it would be blushing hard.

"What just happened?" James asked.

"I think she's waking up." Lukes voice said once again making my heart jump, with this jump my eyes jolted open.

"Rain?" Renee asked as I fluttered my eye lids.

"Please don't yell at me." I managed to mutter out of my lips.

"Oh thank the lord!" She yelled as she laid her head on my chest. "I won't yell at you now but you're getting a very rough tongue lashing later." She laughed as she stood up. I looked past her and down to Luke who was standing at the foot of the bed.

"Hey.. Sorry for passing out on you." I looked to see his clothes covered in blood, my blood from what I could remember.

"It's okay, I'd rather you pass out in my arms cause it makes it easier to pick you up." He smirked as he started rubbing my feet.

"Where's Brad?" I asked after I saw Luke, James, Tomi, David, Flame and Renee around my bed.

"He's over by the window." James moved out of the way to show me Brad staring out the window.

"Hey." He looked at me briefly then back out the window.

"Hey, thanks for helping me.. you too David."
