"Hey, mom, how long is it until we get there?" I asked from the back of the car. "Ugh, seriously, (y/n)? For a woman at your age I thought you knew better than to ask questions like that like a five year old." She replied in annoyance. I rolled my eyes and stared out the car window. "It was just a simple question." I muttered to myself. We were on our way to visit the Deetz's. My parents wanted to help them in their business endevours. It's only polite since we're a befriended family on them.

"To answer your question, (y/n), we're already there!" Dad exclaimed as he pointed to a big house while driving. I stared in awe. It's nothing like their old house since they moved. It was much more... unique, so to speak.

All around the house was blankets of lush green grass that also surrounded the entire village and for miles ahead too.

The car was slowly and gently parked, thanks to my over-dramatic mom. We got out the car and got a close up view of the house. It was even bigger once you got close to it.

I heard voices from behind the door and they were shushed by a female voice who sounded like she was "in charge".

"Stand up straight!" The female voice cried before the door opened. There, was a family of three. The woman, who's voice was probably overheard, brushed off her dress and walked towards us.

"Delia! How wonderful to see you again." My mom walked up to her and they exchanged French kisses on the cheeks. "The same to you! Welcome all of you. We're so happy to have you over this weekend." The woman apparantly named Delia replied. She greeted my dad aswell and then got to me.

"Oh, how precious! Charles, it's about time we had another strong young woman around." Delia giggled and I played along. I looked at Lydia who looked like she was a little angry at Delia and let out a little laugh.

"It's nice to see you too, Delia. Ya' know, I always saw you, Charles, and my parents talking, but I never got round to know your name." I confessed. My parents talked about business alot which left only Lydia and I which made us the best friends we are today.

"Well, dear, it feels great to finally talk to you, you know... outside of talk about work and things. And of course your parents have told me your name. It's (y/n), right?"

"Yep. That's me." I responded. Delia only let out a large laugh. "HA! See, Charles. I told you I remember." Delia crossed her arms looking proud of herself while Lydia leaned on the doorway and facepalmed.

"C'mon! You all won't believed what I have planned for dinner!" Delia said energetically as we headed for the door which gave me a chance to finally talk to Lydia after so many years.

"Lyds! How have you been!" I called her by her nickname as I hugged her. "Great, (y/n)! How's that job of yours been?" She asked. "Eh, pretty good. But I'm tellin' ya, my manager is a di-" I was interrupted by the sound of my mom shushing me.

"What did we say about cussing in front of Lydia?!" I giggled in response while my dad let out a little chuckle. "Sorry, mom. But Lydia is fifteen." I glanced at Lydia who was laughing as well.

We had some time before dinner so Lydia and I went to catch up. "(Y/n), you'll be staying in my room. I know it's weird but hopefully thats okay. I know this house is big but most rooms in it aren't really for sleeping in..." She almost gave a look of horror. I brushed it off though.

"It's totally fine, Lyds. As long as there's enough space, then it's good in my books." Lydia nodded as she opened the door to her room. It was basically just a normal teenage room. I put my suitcase I was holding onto my bed when Lydia came up behind me.

"Hey, (y/n)?" She asked, she fidgeted with her fingers. "Yeah?" I turned around to look down at her.

"Um... So, alot has happened while you weren't around... and with that I have an important question to ask you." She looked nervous.

"Oh? C'mon, Lydia. We're best friends! You can tell me anything." I reassured her.

"Okay, uh... This is gonna sound really crazy , but..."

"...Do you believe in ghosts?"
