dream
"Did he just leave?" Sapnap yelled. He sounded mad, but I know he wasn't really. Sapnap was good at making a joke out of serious things.
"Again..." he continued, this time a lot less ferociously, more of a mumble.
I sigh and check the names under VC3.

That's it, as it always was when this happened. With a few clicks, I scroll towards George's direct messages and see he's still active.
Hey. You good?
No reply.
"Maybe he just got tired, or his headset broke or something," I say, flatly.
I know it didn't.
"I don't know what's gotten into him lately, he's been so distant. I'm not the only one who's noticed, right?" I say, despite my last sentence.
"No, I have to. He's been doing it a few times a day recently. I hope he's just got wifi problems or something." Sapnap replies.
"Yeah, I guess."
He hasn't. He would have fixed it by now. He's smart. I don't know how to support him if I have no idea what's going on. I don't even know what comforts him - how can I call him my friend if I don't know simply what comforts him?
He feels out of reach. Like I should have caught on sooner that something wasn't up, maybe then he wouldn't feel so far away right now. Maybe if I had shown my support earlier on he would still be here. Maybe he would have trusted me enough to talk to me.
We sit there, in silence, still in VC. Just Sapnap and I. It's not uncomfortable, but it doesn't feel right.
"Sapnap I'm gonna go," I say, breaking the silence.
"Alright Dream, and hey, you may not want to, but you don't have to shut me out too as George does. I'm here for you buddy, you can talk to me. I need you." Sapnap says.
I prop up my chin with my arm on my desk, a sad smile stretching out my face.
"I know Sappy. I love you, and I need you too."
"Love you too. Go eat or something, you sound hungry," he says.
I scrunch up my nose and screw my eyebrows together. How can someone sound hungry?
I leave VC and turned off my computer. Putting my hands behind my head and leaning back, my stomach grumbled.
