Chapter 4- Caitlyn

Zach's POV

"Yo man I saw someone go into your sisters room" Sean says

"Who?" I ask

"I don't know the hallway was dark."

Ah fuck. Just my luck. If some drunk guy goes in their and my sister gets raped I'll be grounded until her baby's born. I run up the stairs, two steps instead of one and push opened the door.

"Kier-"

Okay i wasn't expecting this. Temporary is sitting on Kiera's couch but no Kiera. Temporary doesn't even look at me but somehow she knew it was me. "She's in the bathroom" she turns to look at me "real dick move leaving your sister in here during a high school party"

"Oh come off it" I snap "Kiera!"

"Calm yourself retard" Kiera says "I'm fine, now go back to your slut."

I roll my eyes as she sits next to temporary and they start a conversation. What would Temporary, a sixteen year old, want with Kiera, a thirteen year old. Shouldn't she be with that red head she's always talking too.

"Can we help you" Kiera says, noticing I haven't left yet.

"Your red head is downstairs" I lie

"Oh" Temporary says, and stands up " it was fun talking to you"

"Same" Kiera smiles and Temporary walks out.

I walk out to find Amanda pushed up against a wall on the other end of the hallway with Blake Sears shoving his tongue down her throat. Surprisingly I'm not that shocked, or mad.

"Amanda" I say

Her eyes practically pop out of their sockets and she pushes the guy away from her "baby, uhm this isn't what it looks like" she says

"Sure it is" I say "we're done." Just like that I feel some kind of weight lifted off my shoulder. I run downstairs and sit with the guys. I notice Temporary and her friend sitting with them as well, Temporary's talking to Danny and her friend is obviously flirting with Sean. I should probably worn Temporary about Danny. Danny has like bipolar disorder so he'll be pretty cool one minute and then angry the next or sad or overly happy or just horny. That's why his last girlfriend Jamie broke up with him, she couldn't take the constant mood swings. Just then Danny leans in and tries to kiss Temp, but she pushes him away, I see him says come on and go in again but she shoves him back and he knocks over a cup.

Angry Danny appears as he stands up and kicks a bottle. "You slut" he yells and storms away. Temporary just laughs and sticks up the middle finger in the direction Danny went in. I can't help but laugh along with her and when she notices she stops and walks away. I roll my eyes and take a sip from my cup when Amanda comes and sits extremely close to me. "Baby I'm sorry" she whispers

"Amanda we're done" I say loud enough so my friends can hear.

Amanda laughs, trying to convince them otherwise then shoves her finger into shoulder "stop it Zach, I'm the best thing you've got"

"Amanda" I say looking around for a way to get the break up through to her. And that's when I spot Temporary take a seat across from me again "I like someone else."

Amanda backs up as if I hit her "you like someone else!" She screams

"Yeah" I nod and the party goes silent.

"Who?" Amanda crosses her arms. Temporary's looking right at me and I think she knows what I'm going to say. Her eyes go wide as if telling me no, and I knit my eyebrow together as if saying yes.

Eventually she gives up and I open my mouth to speak "Caitlyn" I say. Everyone gasps and Sean laughs "you heard him right, now you can leave" Sean says and Amanda shoots a deadly look at Caitlyn before storming away. "Slut" Sean says under his breath then slaps JJ's hand.

The party starts up again and Caitlyn shoots me an un-approving look before grabbing her bag and running out. I follow her out the door screaming her name before she stops at the crosswalk.

She turns around to me "what the hell was that?"

"Just chill I just told her that so she'd get off my back" I say

"There are like a thousand girls who would kill to have you say you like them, you chose me because?"

"Because, I knew if I said you she'd get mad" I say "you know? The new girl taking over, she wouldn't like that."

"Now what?" Caitlyn says

"Just pretend" I say "only for a week, that way she won't think I made this all up."

"But you did make this all up"

"Don't you think I know that!" I snap. I take a deep breath and pace around the sidewalk, I knew this was a bad idea this girl is going to get on my nerves, but if I want things to be over with Amanda I've got to pull it together. I stop pacing and notice Caitlyn's started in the other direction.

I jog up and stop in front of her "okay just for this week, I'll pick you up for school you'll sit with me at lunch, we'll hang out. Just for this week" I beg

She thinks for a second then sighs "fine, but you'll pick me up at the diner not at my house"

"Whatever floats your boat" I say and she walks away, hops onto her scooter, and disappears down the road.

What the hell have I gotten myself into. I go back inside the party and see Temporary's friend grinding on Sean, she looks drunk, and slutty which doesn't surprise me that much. Amanda's gone which is good because Temporary left, so I go upstairs to check on my sister.

"No I don't want a drink" she says without looking at me "I know there's a roofie in it."

I laugh "I'm not going to rape you, I think that's incest."

"Go away" she says

"Want pizza?" I ask

"I have plenty of food here" she motions towards the fridge in the corner "none containing animals might I add."

I laugh "I love you Kiera"

"Gag me." She rolls her eyes.
