Zach's POV

"Breakfast" my mother yells from the kitchen. I walk to the dining room and take my usual seat across from Kiera, who has a devilish smirk on her face.

"So daddy, how was your trip?" She asks

"Wonderful, I won the golf tournament" he says.

"Zach and I had some fun while you were gone" Kiera says and I freeze. If Kiera tells them about the party she won't get in trouble, but I will, and she knows it.

"Did you now?" Mom says

"Yeah, Zach had this huge party and Amanda cheated on him and they broke up but he got a new girlfriend the same night" Kiera spills. Way to make me sound like a man whore.

"You and Amanda broke up?" Dad says, almost sounding happy and completely forgetting about the fact that I had a party while he was gone. "Yeah" I nod

"Who's your new girlfriend" mom asks

"Uhm" I can't believe I'm going to say this "her name is Caitlyn Cormier."

"Wait a minute, isn't she the girl who got onto the football team" dad says

"Yeah."

Dad drops his fork onto his plate "now Laura, I told you girls were going to be a distraction!"

"She isn't distracting anyone" mom protests

"She's already gotten our boy here, who knows what next" dad says. I want to tell him that Caitlyn hasn't, nor will she ever, have me but that would make the subject confusing as hell.

"They are just dating Martin you are overreacting" mom says

"I want to meet her" dad says.

Wait what?

"Huh?" I say, completely caught off guard.

"This Caitlyn girl, I want you to bring her here, tonight, seven o'clock." Dad says firmly and I know there's no changing his mind.

"Your parents want to what!" Temporary says

"They want you to come over" I repeat myself

"Why'd you tell them about me?" She says

"I didn't Kiera did."

She groans and runs her hands through her hair "I can't go" she finally says

"You have too" I say

"No, I don't." She grits her teeth "you're not my boyfriend and plus I don't have anything to wear."

"Look I want this week to go by just as much, maybe even more, than you do but I really just want Amanda off my back just as much and we have to make people believe that we're together because If one person doubts us it's all over." I say "plus I have enough money for you to buy something."

"No way" Temporary says when I take her too the dress section in Macy's "I refuse to wear a dress."

"Come on Temp" I say and pull out a random dress from the rack. It's a bright blue puffy dress with glitter all over the top, it's hideous. "Fine, I'll pick one not you" she says and disappears down the isle. I take a seat on the bench and wait for her to finish looking and try them on. Seeing all these dresses gives me a headache, when I dated Amanda I refused to ever go shopping with her because I knew she'd spend hours in one store.

Temporary finds me and tells me to wait while she goes into the dressing room to try on the three dresses that disgusted her the least.

The first two dresses she showed me were both grey and boring, something Amanda would definitely wear so I told her to take them back.

"Zach?" Someone says from behind me. I turn my head in the direction of the voice and notice Amanda and her friends standing in the isle across from me. They walk over to me and all I want to do is disappear in thin air, crawl into a hole and die there. "What are you doing here?" She asks

"Oh I'm ju-"

"Okay Zach I think this one is the one" Temporary says, walking out of the dressing room in a strapless black dress that stops in the middle of her thighs, and too be honest she looks hot. She freezes when she notices Amanda but quickly recovers.

"Wow" Amanda says "I see they let anyone in here"

"Shouldn't say bad stuff about yourself, it'll ruin your self confidence." Temporary says "I'm going to take this one" she says

"Don't bother, it doesn't flatter you" Amanda says

"I think it makes her look hot" I protest. Amanda's face flushes and she disappears down the next isle.

We pay for the dress and I drop her off at her house.

She turns to me before getting out "Zach" she says

"Yeah?"

"Did you mean what you said, about me looking hot in the dress?" She asks

"No" I scoff

Yes.

She nods slowly as if realizing how ridiculous that question was and opens the door. I'm about to tell her that I did but she gets out and starts toward her trailer before I get the chance.

I don't like how I'm feeling around her anymore, like when I'm around her my heart races and I'm always thinking twice about what I say, I liked it better when I could just hate her and that was it. I just want this week to be over and maybe the feelings will stop.
