***Three Red Moons Later***
"Ola!! Ola!!" Hide the child! The Gamma and some warriors are coming! Be fast! Mezi Osiso!"
The young woman dashed like a mad woman into the slave quarters to her side of the house.
Some slaves quickly blocked the entrance to prevent any one from seeing what was happening. She brought a piece of cloth and gagged the mouth of the child a bit before hiding her in a basket under some wooden splinters.
"EVERYBODY COME OUT IN THE NAME OF ALPHA AMUSU!!"
The chief warrior's voice thundered as they came close with their horses, whose hoove thundered against the ground like it was war.The Gamma jumped off his horse in his full war attire.
One would think they were actually coming for war.He towered like a mountain above the shaky slaves who felt so helpless as their fate lay in the hands of the crazed wolf in front of them.
Gamma Ikendu was the third in command of the Black Silver pack.
His muscles bulged like eyes in the head of an owl, each with pumping veins like a snake's venom. His bald head glistened under the heat of the sun,and his dirt black skin was adorned with scars and wounds from battle.
The long scar of a dagger slash that ran across his face was enough to give warning that he was deadly, dangerous and not to be messed with.
Swinging his heavy ivory club like it was nothing, he walked menacingly towards the slaves, eying them slowly in disgust.
The slaves, numbered about a thousand heads, which consisted of mostly girls, women and boys who were not up to 12 red moons.
Once the boys got to 12, they were taken to the warrior's quarters and trained to be warriors.
The slaves all wore silver neck chains around their necks.
For a wolf, silver was worse than poison. It burnt through their skins and scarred them.Although the silver in the neck chains were just little, allowing the slaves to do their jobs,it was still enough to do some damage.
Some were completely naked under the harsh scorching heat of the African sun.
"Where's the child?"
He asked, almost too calmly.Everyone looked amongst themselves. Some, with genuine while others with fake confusion.
This could cost them their lives, but for some reason they were willing to die for this child."A child has been hidden here for a while now! It angers me that under my nose, you trick me and do as you please. The other warriors think that I am weak for not being able to handle the things under me!"
He paused and looked around, fire burning in his eyes.
"This child I hear is not registered under the authority of the Alpha!"He walked to Mama Ifebu, the oldest slave in their midst and bent to her level.
"TELL ME WHERE SHE IS OR THE MAMA DIES!!"There were series of gasps of fear and sadnesses.
He held her neck chain and tightened it to her neck, lifting her off the ground. The old woman struggled and struggled in fear and panic, tears streaming down her eyes.
This only made his grey eyes turn darker, showing that his wolf was fighting to let out. That was not a good sign.
Ikendu was mad,but his wolf, his wolf was bloodthirsty.
Some slaves broke down in tears.
"Ebere... mercy...mercy!!
They cried."Ikendu! That is enough!"
A small but authoritative voice ordered.
With the old woman still in his grasps,he turned back slowly to see who dared to command him."Alpha princess, what are you doing in a filthy place like this?"
He growled in annoyance, dropping the old woman down in a rough manner."Do not growl at me you pup!"
He lowered his head, offended and bitter because she had insulted him and he could do nothing. She walked through the warriors who's heads were now bowed as they parted in two.
Her 'Ijeoma' guards walked smartly by her,in their crossdresser' attires. They were treated like enochs as their wolves had no particular gender, giving them a more feminine out look.
They were mateless, born to serve and serve alone.Although they looked soft and delicate, everyone knew better than to underestimate an Ijeoma.
They were skillful in all sorts of fighting, had extreme wisdom and were deadly seductors. They had been with her since childhood, guarding her and teaching her.
Kambi was completely robed in an expensive velvet black robe. Her albino skin disagreed strongly with the harshness of the African sun(Another reason her father hated her and thought she was weak)
Her bright golden yellow eyes shone, almost like the sun.
That was one of the reasons she loved child.
Just like her,she was different.
She was special!"Bow to the Alpha princess!"
Ikendu's annoying but commanding voice ordered.
Honestly,Kambi was getting irritated. The slaves fell flat with their faces on the hot red mud.
"It is no longer a secret that a child, unregistered under my father's authority, is here!"She said in so much grace and authority,it was hard to think she was only 13 red moons.
"However..."
She continued.
"By my immunity as the Alpha princess and future Alpha Queen of this pack, I declare that child, a fully certified slave of the Black Silver Pack!"All the slaves gasped in surprise while Ikendu was filled with surprise and rage.
He felt insulted and it was more painful because the little thing had done it in front of mere slaves!"But my princess..."
"Enough,Ikendu!"
"Your father..."
"Leave him to me!"
"Princess Kam..."
She held up her left palm, signalling the end of the discussion.Cheta her head guard and favourite Ijeoma walked up to her.
His soft light skin was beautiful.
The 17 red moons old was truly a sight to behold. His eyes were mixtures of different colors and his voice was like that of an angel.
Although he looked deathly beautiful, the tales of his cunningness, wisdom, knowledge in the art of fighting and seduction has spread far and near."I have informed the slave woman who has the child to meet you at the first stroke of midnight."
Kambi's eyes widened in confusion.
"Wha...what do you mean?"
"A fragile fate of something great lies in your hands, Kambi. You have to protect it!"The young princess felt no need to argue with him.
Cheta was always right.
He could be confusing most of the times, but he was always right. She just gave a slight nod before shooting Ikendu a harsh warning glare and walking out with her Ijeomas following smartly behind her.
The Gamma and his warriors grudgingly turned back to leave.
Just then, the cry of a child was heard!***Author's Note***
